As a Fab Support Equipment Engineer, you will be responsible for optimizing and developing pump, abatement and chiller equipment to improve product quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. Leading the health of assigned equipment, ensuring high-quality output, and providing proactive redundancy plans for bottlenecks that impact Fab cycle time (CT) or turns, this role will challenge your skills in problem-solving while successfully implementing changes and improvements.

Responsibilities:

  • Launch, advance, and refine pump, abatement, and chiller equipment to boost product quality.
  • Drive yield and efficiency improvements, cost reduction, and risk management.
  • Identify, diagnose, and resolve equipment-related problems using failure analysis, FMEA, 8D, or SPC/FDC methodologies.
  • Lead and resolve sophisticated equipment issues, develop procedures and action plans.
  • Coordinate and carry out equipment and material evaluation/optimization to implement changes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, comparable military experience, or AAS combined with 2+ years of industry experience.
  • More than 2 years of experience working on pump, abatement, chiller equipment for semiconductor products.
  • Proven process area equipment knowledge and automation skills requiring coding, machine learning, and JMP scripting.
  • Mature understanding of process flow related to area equipment and SPC principles including understanding of physics, area chemistry, and semiconductor equipment concepts through analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to effectively coordinate across a variety of groups to project manage and resolve complex equipment issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using AI-enabled tools or digital ways of working to improve documentation quality, workflow efficiency, problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making in support of Micron’s AI transformation.
