We are working with a leading South African business that built their position in the market through deep expertise, authentic relationships, and an uncompromising standard of service. They are currently seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join their team.

Location:
The role can either based in Johannesburg or Cape Town.
Responsibilities
This role spans business analysis, technical configuration and optimisation, and data management. In practice, this means:
Business Analysis
- Mapping and documenting current-state operational processes across the business, identifying manual, repetitive, and error-prone workflows
- Designing and facilitating process improvement workshops with internal stakeholders, creating shared understanding from which change can be implemented
- Translating business problems into clear requirements and designing future-state processes that leverage automation and low-code tooling
Technical Configuration & Optimisation
- Evaluating, recommending, and configuring low-code and no-code digital tools to automate manual workflows
- Driving adoption of new tools and processes, ensuring the team understands the why before the how
- Ensuring operational standards and execution quality are consistently elevated through smarter, more automated ways of working
Data Management
- Writing and maintaining SQL queries to extract, structure, and analyse operational data
- Building dashboards and reporting structures that give the operations team and leadership real-time visibility into business performance
- Managing and structuring the organisation's growing data infrastructure so that operational activity translates into decisions, not just records
Requirements
1. Business analysis capability. Strong process mapping and requirements gathering skills, with the ability to identify improvement opportunities based on impact, frequency, and automation potential, and embed change sustainably.
2. SQL proficiency. Confident query writing and the ability to use data to generate meaningful insight. This is a core requirement for this role.
3. Technical configuration and optimisation. Comfortable configuring digital tools in an operational context, with a track record of automation and the ability to evaluate tools critically against a business need.
4. Data thinking. Solid ability to work with structured data and generate insight. Experience with BI tools or dashboard platforms such as Power BI or Tableau is a strong advantage. A genuine propensity to grow into a more data-oriented role over time.
5. Stakeholder engagement. Proven ability to manage relationships with senior stakeholders and balance competing priorities without losing trust on either side.
Background / Experience Requirements
- 4+ years in a business analysis, process improvement, or data-focused role
- A relevant degree in Engineering, Computer Science is preferred
- SQL experience is required
- Strong business construct awareness and an understanding of how operational businesses run day to day
- Experience with low-code or no-code platforms in an operational context is advantageous
- Project management experience is beneficial
