Role Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager who can apply the principles of professional project management to deliver projects for our IT platforms across our complex international organisation. This role is focused on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) within IT, leading the technology workstreams that support the integration, separation and onboarding of acquired businesses into our global IT platforms. You will have experience of delivering projects, ideally in a mixed methodology environment, providing a consistent, reliable service to business sponsors, stakeholders and your colleagues. In this role you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of project(s), coordinating activities and deliveries that span technology and operational teams, often under the pace and confidentiality that M&A activity demands. You will be comfortable with complexity and will have the aptitude and contextual perspective to understand how multiple parts work together. You will be able to adapt to different areas of the business to meet changing demands.

You will understand the importance of setting clear objectives and agreeing a set of key results to demonstrate the success of outcomes and initiatives, and ensuring they are met. Crucially, you will be a great communicator – you'll be able to communicate through metrics, showcases and presentations, and tailor messages appropriately for the target audience, whether discussing project health with the IT team or presenting at steering groups.

This role is a core function within our IT department and will report to the Program Lead of M&A (mergers and Aqasitions).  This role will work in partnership with the IT team.

Alongside this, the role will form close partnerships and collaboration with our business partners that utilize the technology platforms and have a requirement in the future.  Another important element is the understanding and assurance that our IT platforms are properly maintained following best practice methodologies. Adherence to our global LNE data privacy and governance models, our audit and compliance policies and procedures, along with ensuring our systems are kept safe and secure, following both IT and Information Security policies.

  • Fluent in English with an approach that inspires confidence through verbal, written and presentation skills and delivers clear and concise information tailored for different stakeholders and situations
  • Able to build rapport quickly to establish trust, respect and confidence that builds excellent working relationships with colleagues and internal stakeholders at all levels of the organisation, and external vendors, to ensure objectives are understood, expectations set and appropriate business engagement is in place throughout the project lifecycle
  • Excellent facilitation skills to conduct meetings and workshops that encourage attendees to participate and collaborate effectively and efficiently ranging from small ideation sessions to formal steering groups  
  • Facilitate planning with teams to generate and develop plans and roadmaps that provide clarity for the team and sponsors
  • Ensure the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) processes and guidelines are understood and adhered too
  • Experience and knowledge in Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Qualified in a recognised Project Management methodology (Prince II, PMI, etc) or proven experience.
  • Extremely competent in using Microsoft Office, specifically advanced Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience in Project Management tooling such as MS Project or similar

What the role includes

  • Manage and deliver IT projects by coordinating work packages, phases, key milestones and deliveries, and developing concrete plans based on a clear scope
  • Responsible for closely monitoring each project to ensure it remains on track, meets deadlines and outcomes in accordance with quality and benefit targets using defined controls, processes and support tools, following defined PMO project management methodologies
  • Responsible for delivering projects that support the IT business strategic initiatives enabling business transformation to drive efficiencies. Be able to recommend correct approaches in order to manage the benefits/outcomes
  • Conducting analysis and generating accurate figures to make appropriate recommendations for low/medium complexity projects and present it in a logical form using defined models
  • Understand the impact and risk of change on people, process and benefits and take these into consideration when planning and delivering projects
  • Assist the Senior IT Programme Manager with stakeholder management and preparing presentations and project data for Steering Group Meetings. Understand the correct structure for varying purposes and audiences
  • Able to support the production and maintenance of business case submissions on behalf of IT, as and when required
  • Analyse and provide regular status reports that are objective and reflect the true state of progress, determining the key points and messages
  • Collaborate with teams to identify, maintain accurate logs, track and resolve principles of professional project management such as Risk, Issue, Dependency, Decision and Change Management, Resource and Capacity Management and leverage these to improve control and visibility 
  • Ability to adapt to different areas of the business to manage and deliver projects where needed
  • Spot growing risks, emerging issues and opportunities which require intervention to support or protect and manage these problems providing effective solutions
  • Coordinate activities to promote workflow and manage escalations either within the team or to sponsors and Senior Salesforce Programme Manager when needing steer
  • Manage the complete lifecycle and facilitate the team to transition from phase to phase, including initiation, planning, project closure and handover
  • Open to improve project management best practices and support new ideas in order to continuously grow and develop our business
  • Travel to other LNE offices when needed to support teams, maintain relationships and co-ordinate launch activities
  • Provide support to colleagues and managers alike
  • Establish project level budgets and track to completion
