Job Description

Are you passionate about data and enterprise database technologies? We are seeking an experienced Professional Oracle Database Administrator to join our dynamic team. You will play a central role in designing, implementing, optimizing, and securing Oracle Database environments, both on-premises and in the cloud. This is your chance to make a significant impact by ensuring high availability, performance, resilience, and security of our critical database platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a key contributor supporting the DBA team in migrating data from another system, including clients, transactions, and related information.
  • Design, install, automate, and continuously improve Oracle Database services across on-premises, Exadata, and cloud environments, with exposure to PostgreSQL considered an advantage.
  • Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with internal policies, audit requirements, and industry standards.
  • Design and deliver high availability and disaster recovery solutions using Oracle technologies such as Data Guard, RAC, RMAN, backup/recovery automation, and replication mechanisms to meet required RTO and RPO. Perform regular restore tests and Disaster Recovery exercises.
  • Implement and maintain robust monitoring to track database health, performance, capacity, and utilization using tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager and automated alerting. Develop and maintain automation scripts and jobs for administrative efficiency using Shell, PL/SQL, Python, Ansible, or cloud-native automation.
  • Plan and execute Oracle database upgrades, patching, migrations, and platform transitions between on-premises, Exadata, OCI, Azure, or AWS environments.
  • Collaborate closely with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams to optimize SQL and PL/SQL code, schemas, indexing strategies, and database design.
  • Document Oracle database architecture, configurations, operational procedures, runbooks, and recovery plans.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Oracle Database installation, configuration, upgrading, patching, administration, and performance tuning.
  • Deep understanding of Oracle Database architecture, internals, storage structures, optimizer behavior, and administration best practices.
  • Hands-on expertise with on-premises Oracle environments, Exadata or engineered systems, and cloud database services.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and/or other enterprise database platforms is a strong advantage.
  • Proven skills in RMAN backup/recovery, disaster recovery, high-availability solutions, restore validation, and operational resilience.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms such as OCI, AWS, Azure, or VMware, plus migration strategies and tools such as Oracle Data Pump, RMAN duplicate, GoldenGate, or AWS DMS, will be considered an advantage.
  • Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL scripting, performance tuning, query optimization, indexing, execution plans, AWR/ASH analysis, and database diagnostics.
  • Experience with automation tools and scripting such as Shell, Python, Ansible, PL/SQL jobs, or cloud automation is highly desirable.
  • Strong grasp of database security: user and privilege management, role-based access control, encryption, auditing, patching, and compliance controls.
