Spreadsheet QA / workbook maintenance Evaluator

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Spreadsheet QA / Workbook Maintenance Evaluator based in Canada.

This contract role is ideal for an experienced spreadsheet professional who combines technical precision with strong quality-assurance skills. You will evaluate AI-generated spreadsheets and related work products against detailed quality standards. Your expertise will help identify calculation errors, inconsistencies, formatting issues, and other problems that could affect the reliability of a workbook. You will provide structured feedback designed to improve the accuracy, usability, and presentation of AI-generated outputs. The role also involves collaborating with subject-matter experts to ensure evaluations are rigorous and relevant. Working remotely and asynchronously, you will have a direct impact on improving the quality and performance of emerging AI systems.

Accountabilities:

• Evaluate AI-generated spreadsheets, workbooks, and related artifacts against established quality rubrics and domain-specific standards.

• Review workbooks for accuracy, consistency, completeness, usability, formatting, and overall presentation quality.

• Identify calculation issues, inconsistencies, structural problems, formatting defects, and other errors that could compromise workbook quality.

• Provide clear, structured, and actionable written feedback to support improvements in AI-generated spreadsheet outputs.

• Apply strong spreadsheet QA and workbook-maintenance expertise to assess the reliability and practical usability of generated work products.

• Collaborate with subject-matter experts to validate findings and maintain accuracy and rigor across evaluations.

• Work independently and asynchronously while meeting deadlines and consistently maintaining high-quality standards.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of relevant professional experience in spreadsheet quality assurance, workbook maintenance, financial or operational spreadsheet management, or a closely related field.

• Native or professional-level fluency in English, with strong written communication skills.

• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, with particular strength in spreadsheet and presentation tools.

• Strong understanding of spreadsheet structure, formatting, data integrity, formulas, and workbook quality control.

• Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to identify subtle errors and inconsistencies in complex workbooks.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess spreadsheet outputs objectively.

• Ability to provide clear, structured, and constructive feedback based on defined evaluation criteria.

• Comfortable working independently in a remote, asynchronous environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

• An advanced degree, such as a Master’s degree or higher, from a reputable institution is preferred.
