Sr. Database Engineer

• Design and architect database solutions across PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Microsoft SQL Server platforms.

• Install, configure, and deploy database environments for customer and internal projects.

• Perform database performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.

• Design and implement backup, recovery, high-availability, and disaster recovery strategies.

• Manage database security, including access control, encryption, and compliance requirements.

• Monitor database health and proactively identify and resolve performance and availability issues.

• Support database migration, consolidation, and upgrade projects across different platforms.

• Develop and maintain database documentation, standards, and operational best practices.

• Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and project teams on database-related requirements and design decisions.

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for managed services customers, including participation in on-call/escalation support as needed.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

• 5-7 years of experience in database engineering and administration, with hands-on expertise across PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, and Microsoft SQL Server.

• Strong knowledge of database design, architecture, indexing, and performance tuning across relational and NoSQL platforms.

• Proven experience with backup/recovery, replication, clustering, and high-availability/disaster recovery configurations.

• Familiarity with database security hardening and compliance best practices.

• Experience with database migration and cross-platform upgrade projects.

• Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator / SQL Server, MongoDB Certified DBA, or equivalent).
