POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Analyst, Data Management & Analytics supports Dominium’s data management, reporting, and analytics initiatives by improving the understanding, governance, and usability of enterprise data and reporting assets. This position partners with business stakeholders and technical teams to document and evaluate operational and financial reports, establish consistent business definitions, and translate business needs into actionable requirements. Initially focused on report documentation and cataloging, this role expands into broader business analysis and process improvement as Dominium’s data platform and analytics capabilities evolve.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Documents, catalogs, and maintains an inventory of operational, financial, and ERP-based reports, including report purpose, usage, business value, calculations, and data sources.
  • Develops and maintains report documentation, metric definitions, business rules, and data dictionaries, partnering with stakeholders to establish consistent business definitions and reporting standards across departments.
  • Evaluates reporting assets to identify duplicate, conflicting, outdated, or underutilized reports and recommends opportunities for consolidation, standardization, and improved usability.
  • Gathers, documents, and validates business requirements and translates business objectives, processes, and use cases into actionable requirements for data, reporting, analytics, and technology solutions.
  • Collaborates with data, analytics, and technology teams to align solutions with business objectives and supports testing, validation, and user acceptance activities.
  • Supports the development and adoption of data governance, documentation, and reporting best practices to improve data consistency, reliability, and usability.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships across finance, accounting, operations, property management, and other business functions to understand reporting needs and facilitate productive discussions and consensus.
  • Presents findings, recommendations, and documentation to stakeholders at all organizational levels, including frontline users, senior leadership, and ownership representatives.
  • Identifies and supports continuous improvement opportunities that streamline business processes, reduce reporting redundancy, and create scalable, sustainable solutions that improve decision-making.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS: (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Training and Experience.)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • Five to seven years of experience in business analysis, reporting, data management, process improvement, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated experience gathering and validating business requirements, documenting business processes and reporting assets, and translating business needs into clear, actionable requirements.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with curiosity and a desire to understand business operations and improve decision-making through trusted data.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information and present findings to stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Strong interpersonal, relationship-building, and facilitation skills, with the ability to collaborate across business and technical teams and build consensus among diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to evolving responsibilities in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work through ambiguity, clarify complex business questions, and identify practical opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in IT consulting or a similar consulting environment preferred.
  • Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence and reporting platforms preferred.
  • Familiarity with data governance, reporting standards, metadata management, data warehouses, analytics platforms, or enterprise reporting environments preferred.
  • Knowledge of process mapping, workflow analysis, and business requirements documentation preferred.
