Job Title: Software Manager I JOB SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES:
We are currently seeking a Software Manager I for a full-time position that is responsible for providing development expertise for one of our premier Enterprise Management platforms. The candidate will work closely with the technical managers and senior members of the development team to bring new software products and product enhancements to market. This position works closely with all of the corporate functions providing detailed knowledge transfer about the appliance’s capabilities and functions. Key responsibilities for the position include:
- Help developers plan and estimate tasks
- Work closely with other managers and teams to deliver software products
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the Agile development process
- Work closely with system testers and project managers to meet delivery schedules
- Work closely with other corporate functions as required.
- Champion effective, responsible use of AI-assisted development tools within the team — establishing practices for where AI tooling accelerates delivery and where rigorous human review is required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience with Linux development environment and able to configure own development environment
- 5+ years developing Linux applications
- Strong MS Windows user skills (email, Powerpoint, Excel) and able to set-up development environment
- 5+ years of C/C++, Python, and BASH languages
- 3+ years of working with and developing docker containers
- 2+ years working as a development team lead
- 2+ years working with scrum teams
- 2+ years of experience with software requirement development and agile sprint planning.
- 2+ years of experience in software story sizing.
- Understanding of Web application development using HTML/ CSS/JS, PHP, RESTful interfaces, or similar technologies
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- General understanding of Object-oriented design and analysis.
- General understanding of computer security vulnerabilities and protection techniques
- Knowledge of MySQL, PostGres and proficiency in SQL language
- Knowledge of Network and Server Management protocols such as SNMP,TCP/IP
- Enthusiasm for AI-assisted development: hands-on experience using AI coding tools (e.g., agentic coding assistants, code-generation and code-review tools) in daily work, and interest in coaching a team to adopt them effectively — including judgment about where they accelerate delivery and where they need human review
- Experience with HTML5 development
- Experience with Golang
- 2+ years of experience as a software development manager
- Some knowledge of deploying and developing CI/CD actions or pipelines
POSITION ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Occasional travel may be required.
