We're seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to oversee commercial and industrial electrical construction projects for a well-established electrical contractor in the Houston area. In this role, you'll manage projects from contract award through closeout, ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with the highest quality standards.
The ideal candidate has a strong background managing commercial electrical projects, excels at coordinating office and field operations, and is comfortable overseeing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. Experience with healthcare, education, industrial, municipal, and other large commercial projects is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities• Manage commercial and industrial electrical construction projects from contract award through final closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, manpower forecasts, and project timelines.
- Monitor project financial performance, including labor productivity, material costs, subcontractor management, billing, forecasting, and cost control.
- Review contracts, electrical drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure successful execution.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation.
- Coordinate with Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, and clients to keep projects on schedule.
- Lead project meetings and provide regular progress updates to customers and company leadership.
- Resolve project challenges while maintaining strong communication between field operations and office teams.
- Ensure projects comply with contract requirements, quality standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, general contractors, engineers, architects, and project stakeholders.
- 5+ years of Project Management experience with a commercial electrical contractor.
- Proven experience managing commercial, industrial, healthcare, educational, institutional, or municipal electrical construction projects.
- Strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and installation practices.
- Experience managing project schedules, budgets, procurement, labor, subcontractors, and overall project financial performance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction management software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, or similar platforms.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to successfully manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Residential-only electrical project management experience is not sufficient for this role.
