Full description
ImagineX is a tech company that deploys AI-assisted teams to build and secure mission-critical enterprise solutions with our clients – spanning software, data, and AI. Structured like a software company, not a traditional consultancy, we blend deep technical expertise with authentic values, achieving world-class satisfaction (NPS 91). Our dedicated teams specialize in software, data, and AI across the U.S. and LATAM, bridging the gap between boutique agility and enterprise scale.
This is a full-time, Columbus, OH–based position that requires onsite visits with the client 5 days a week. ImagineX is seeking a proactive, people-first Technology Program Manager to lead our DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practice for our client. In this role, you will bridge strategic leadership, client engagement, and technical execution. You will directly manage a team of hands-on DevOps/SRE engineers while partnering closely with the Lead Technical Architect to drive operational excellence, pipeline automation, and system reliability.
This role requires a strong organizational leader who is "technically conversant." You do not need to write code daily, but you must comfortably follow technical discussions, understand cloud/infrastructure architecture, and translate complex engineering concepts into clear business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & People Management: Direct management of hands-on DevOps and SRE engineers. Drive performance management, career development, team health, and resource allocation.
- Bi-Directional Management ("Up & Down"): Act as the key liaison between executive leadership, client stakeholders, and the core delivery team. Manage expectations, remove blockers, and advocate for team needs while ensuring client alignment.
- Technical & Delivery Oversight: Partner with the Tech Lead to oversee infrastructure modernization, CI/CD pipeline optimization, monitoring, and incident response frameworks. Maintain situational awareness of technical progress without needing to perform the hands-on implementation.
- Initiative & Practice Growth: Proactively identify delivery risks, process bottlenecks, and opportunities for operational improvement before they become critical issues.
- Client Engagement: Serve as a trusted advisor to client leadership, ensuring transparency, accountability, and seamless service delivery.
Qualifications & Experience• Leadership Background: 5+ years of experience in technical program management, engineering management, or delivery leadership, ideally within enterprise environments or technology consulting.
- Technical Literacy: Strong baseline knowledge of DevOps principles, SRE methodologies, CI/CD, cloud environments (AWS/Azure), and infrastructure monitoring tools. Ability to challenge assumptions and follow high-level architectural discussions.
- Stakeholder Management: Exceptional communication skills with a proven track record of managing up to executive sponsors and down to engineering teams.
- Proactive Drive: Self-starter mindset with the ability to build structure out of ambiguity and drive continuous improvement initiatives independently.
