Job Summary

Are you passionate about cloud technologies and eager to develop innovative cloud-based solutions? NetApp's Azure NetApp Files (ANF) team is building industry-leading cloud storage services that power mission-critical enterprise workloads in Microsoft Azure. We are looking for a highly motivated engineers to help develop and operate cloud-scale distributed systems that span storage, networking, cloud infrastructure, and user experience. This is a unified engineering role where engineers are expected to contribute across development, automated validation, performance, operational readiness, and service reliability. The ideal candidate enjoys solving complex technical challenges, takes ownership from design through production, and thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. While programming language experience, we expect engineers to incorporate AI-native engineering practices.

Job Requirements

  • Own the functional, performance, scalability, and reliability aspects of cloud-native data management services and distributed systems.
  • Drive features through the entire software lifecycle, including architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
  • Design, develop, and operate microservices-based applications using Kubernetes, containers, RESTful APIs, and modern CI/CD practices.
  • Build high-quality software leveraging Python for automation, validation frameworks, tooling, operational efficiency, and CI/CD integration.
  • Collaborate across engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions spanning storage, networking, cloud infrastructure, security, observability, and customer-facing experiences.
  • Participate in architecture reviews, design discussions, and code reviews to drive technical excellence, software quality, and engineering best practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement long-term reliability, scalability, and operational improvements.
  • Apply software quality principles, including automated testing, performance optimisation, monitoring, telemetry, observability, and security best practices.
  • Develop and operate cloud-native distributed systems on public cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Contribute to the team's technical growth through knowledge sharing, mentorship, continuous learning, and collaborative problem-solving.
  • Work closely with product management, architects, and partner teams to translate business and customer requirements into robust technical solutions.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies.
  • Familiarity with technologies such as C/C++, React, TypeScript, or C# is desirable for working across existing service components and user-facing applications.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
