Job Description Summary

Be part of a unique team that merges software development technologies and modern analytics with turbomachinery engineering to impact products across GE Vernova. This is an opportunity to accelerate the global energy transformation while learning from experts in different fields to create engineering software. In this role, you will be responsible for leading a team of talented individuals developing, deploying, and sustaining next-generation engineering software design systems. In addition, by partnering directly with the engineering design teams, you'll be helping GE Vernova to deliver cleaner, more accessible energy that the world needs.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop a team of software developers, providing day-to-day oversight, performance management, career development, and resource allocation across active projects and workstreams
  • Own team capacity planning and staffing decisions, matching developer skills to project needs and proactively communicating availability and utilization to leadership and stakeholders
  • Drive integrated tools strategy and roadmap development by partnering with engineers, designers, and end users to ensure engineering tools continuously evolve and work cohesively together
  • Implement and enforce best practices across the team, including code reviews, documentation standards, and adoption of modern development workflows
  • Identify and pursue training opportunities to continuously elevate the team's technical capabilities and close skill gaps through formal training, certifications, and knowledge-sharing initiatives
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for stakeholder communication, proactively managing status updates, escalations, and cross-functional collaboration to keep development efforts aligned with broader organizational goals
  • Drive operational excellence by defining team KPIs, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and contributing to lean and agile practices that optimize team delivery and reduce waste

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and/or Math) from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in engineering or analytical role.

Desired Characteristics

  • Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Established project management skills.
  • Background on programming with knowledge of different programming languages.
  • Experience with FEA and/or CFD desired
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. 
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. 
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $145,400.00 and $242,500.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. 

 

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
