Job Description
As the newest member of our talented team, you will play a vital role in directing projects through design, documentation, and coordination. You're a licensed architect with 10+ years of project leadership and project management experience. You catch coordination issues early, push consultants for real answers, and give clients straight information. You're comfortable being the face of a project — delivering good news and hard news the same way, and holding your ground when scope, schedule, or budget need protecting. You know when a technical issue calls for the CEO's involvement, and you see that as good judgment, not a limitation. If you're ready for a role where your judgment, follow-through, and project ownership set the standard for the team around you, let's talk!
You Value: Leadership, Predictability, Quality
How you’ll spend your day:
- Leading small and midsize projects, and supporting the CEO on larger or more complex ones, from early design through construction administration
- Owning day-to-day communication with clients, consultants, contractors, CEO, and internal team, including updates, meeting recaps, decisions needed, and next steps
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and constructability
- Directing full trade coordination across structural, MEP, civil, and other consultants
- Tracking schedules, budgets, consultant deliverables, and client decision points
- Managing construction administration, including RFIs, submittals, ASIs/addenda, field observations, and open issue tracking with CEO input on complex issues
- Mentoring Project Architects, Designers, and other team members while holding the team accountable to deadlines and quality expectations
- Traveling to project sites up to 30% depending on project and firm needs
Qualifications
What you bring to the table:
- A licensed architect with a bachelor’s or master’s degree in architecture
- 10+ years of professional architectural experience, including 5+ years in a project manager role - hospitality, aviation, or restaurant experience is a strong plus
- At least 3 years of construction administration experience, including full lifecycle responsibility on assigned projects
- Strong technical detailing skills, with deep experience coordinating construction documents across structural, MEP, civil, and other trades
- Advanced Revit proficiency and solid technical knowledge of construction methods, detailing, and code coordination
- Clear, confident communication with clients, consultants, contractors, and your internal team
- A portfolio of work demonstrating your project leadership and technical detailing
- NCARB Certification, Autodesk Forma/Construction Cloud experience, and Deltek Vantagepoint experience are all pluses
- Based in the Dallas metro area, within 50 miles of DFW International or Love Field airports
