Our projects team is looking for a full-time Project Manager who is driven to successfully deliver project through its various phases in accordance with approved timelines, budget, scope, safety, and quality standards.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enforce and promote safety and quality control policies among employees and subcontractors ensuring compliance with company, local, and federal rules, policies, and procedures
- Develop and manage comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring alignment on project objectives and client expectations
- Lead project initiation, including feasibility assessments and pre-construction planning
- Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls
- Oversee procurement processes, including tendering, bid evaluation, and contract award
- Negotiate and administer contracts with subcontractors, consultants, and vendors
- Ensure strong change management and project controls, including tracking project progress and cost, reporting on key performance indicators, and managing project financials.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed
- Manage project risks by identifying potential issues early, developing mitigation strategies, and proactively addressing challenges
- Ensure compliance with codes, permits, and regulatory requirements
- Lead the field team and collaborates with owners, superintendents, area managers, engineers and subcontractors to define project needs and ensures contractual specifications are met.
- Provide regular project updates, reports, and financial summaries to leadership and clients
- Ensure adherence to company policies, quality standards, and safety protocols
- Keeps track of material stock and orders
- Travel to job site – up to 25% of time
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 2 – 5 years experience in construction project management
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, and cost control
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Primavera)
- PMP or equivalent certification is considered an asset
- Outstanding written, time management, and oral communication skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams
- Proven leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Experience on mainline and/ or Class 1 rail projects is considered an asset
- Experience on LRT or major transit infrastructure projects is considered an asset
