About Your Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Production Delivery Manager to lead the safe and efficient delivery of locomotive manufacturing and testing activities within our Spotswood Maintenance Centre operations.

Reporting to the Site Manager, you will be responsible for leading production teams, driving operational performance and ensuring customer delivery commitments are achieved. Working across manufacturing, supply chain and project functions, you will play a key role in delivering world-class outcomes across safety, quality, schedule and cost.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and fostering a strong safety-first culture across all build and test activities
  • Managing production delivery to achieve schedule, quality and customer requirements
  • Driving workforce planning, labour utilisation and productivity improvements
  • Monitoring and reporting on operational performance against key production metrics
  • Coordinating with supply chain, procurement and warehouse teams to ensure material availability
  • Leading frontline leaders and production personnel to achieve high-performance outcomes
  • Identifying and implementing continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives\
  • Managing production risks and resolving operational issues impacting delivery
  • Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders, suppliers and project teams
  • Supporting cost optimisation and operational excellence initiatives

About You:

We are looking for a proactive and capable production leader who thrives in complex manufacturing environments and has a proven ability to lead teams to achieve exceptional delivery outcomes.

You will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in a Production Manager, Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager or similar leadership role
  • Experience within rail, rolling stock, heavy manufacturing, defence, mining, engineering or related industries
  • Strong people leadership and team development capabilities
  • Experience managing production schedules, resources and operational performance
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing, continuous improvement and visual management principles
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience using SAP, ERP or MRP systems
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Trade, technical or tertiary qualifications relevant to manufacturing, engineering or operations management (desirable)
