Job Description:

Cityblock is betting that agents, operating our systems safely and under real oversight, can meaningfully expand what our engineering and care teams can accomplish using AI. In this role, you will create scalable analytics platforms integrated with healthcare data, develop predictive models, and work with cross-functional teams to deliver actionable insights, real-time monitoring, and ensure compliance with regulations.

You will:

Scalable Analytics Architecture & Transformations: Architect, build, and optimize

enterprise-grade, high-performance analytical data models using dbt Core/Cloud and complex SQL. Structure modular data transformations to expose standardized clinical and operational datasets.

Big Data Processing & Distributed Computing: Develop and optimize scalable

pipelines to process large volumes of multi-system, unstructured, and

semi-structured healthcare datasets (e.g., EHR, Claims, FHIR, and HL7 feeds),

significantly cutting compute times and warehouse/lakehouse spending.

Orchestration & Real-Time Alerting: Design, automate, and monitor production-grade DAGs using asset-centric orchestration frameworks like Dagster. Implement real-time data freshness checks, anomaly detection, and custom automated alerting systems to guarantee continuous pipeline health.

Cross-Functional Engineering & Data Governance: Collaborate closely with Data

Engineering, Governance, and BI teams to ensure seamless ELT integration, establish DBT semantic models/metric definitions, and enforce data contracts to align engineering workflows with business and clinical analytics requirements.

HIPAA Compliance & Data Security: Enforce strict healthcare compliance regulations (HIPAA, HITECH) across all codebases. Implement row- and column-level security policies, dynamic data masking for PII/PHI in SQL, CI/CD code checks, and robust technical documentation to ensure 100% audit readiness.

Work Experience

6+ Years of Analytics & Data Engineering: Extensive experience in senior analytics

engineering or data roles, demonstrating mastery in SQL, dbt, Python and workflow

orchestration platforms (Dagster/Airflow)

Healthcare Domain & Regulatory Expertise: Deep hands-on knowledge of healthcare

data frameworks (FHIR, HL7, ICD-10, CPT, claims feeds), PHI protection standards

under HIPAA, and experience operating governed analytics pipelines in cloud data

environments (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, AWS EMR/Redshift, BigQuery).
