At PlayOn, we believe high school sports deserve world class digital experiences. We're building the video experiences behind NFHS Network and MaxPreps, helping athletes, families, and fans stay connected to the moments that matter most.
We're looking for a Senior Product Designer who loves solving meaningful customer problems, sweats the details, and thrives in fast moving product teams. You'll help shape the future of our video experience across web, mobile, and connected TV, designing products that help athletes, parents, families, and fans discover, watch, and engage with the moments that matter most.
This is a role for someone who combines exceptional design craft with strong product thinking. You'll own work from discovery through launch, use research and data to guide decisions, and work closely with Product and Engineering to ship experiences that create meaningful impact for both our customers and the business.
The Outcomes You’ll Deliver
- Deliver thoughtful, high quality video experiences that improve how customers discover, watch, and engage with high school sports.
- Independently own complex product initiatives from discovery through launch.
- Deepen our understanding of customers through user research, testing, and product data.
- Raise the quality and consistency of our video experience through strong design craft and systems thinking.
In this role, You can expect to
- Lead design execution for core product features (e.g., streaming interface, search, subscription flows)
- Partner closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and cross functional teams to identify customer problems and deliver impactful solutions.
- Conduct and synthesize user research to inform design strategy and validate solutions
- Design polished, production ready interfaces with a strong attention to interaction design, accessibility, and visual craft.
- Prototype ideas, gather feedback, and iterate quickly based on customer insights and product data.
- Translate complex problems into intuitive, elegant experiences across web, mobile, and connected TV.
- Contribute to and evolve our design system as the product continues to grow.
- Be curious about AI tools and actively question how we work as a team across design, product, and engineering—seeking better, smarter, and faster ways to operate
To thrive In this role, you have
- 7+ years of product design experience, with a proven record of shaping design strategy and delivering impactful consumer-facing experiences
- A portfolio that demonstrates strong craft, user-centered thinking, and experience with B2C products (streaming, media, or gaming a plus)
- Proficiency in Figma, including complex component structures and variables for scalable systems
- A strong understanding of customer centered design, user research, experimentation, and data informed decision making.
- Curiosity and comfort experimenting with AI-powered tools such as Claude Code, Cursor and Loveable to improve workflows and outcomes
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, able to influence stakeholders across design, product, engineering, and marketing
- Ability to balance independent execution with deep cross-functional collaboration
HOW YOU PLAY
- Ownership over Participation- You take responsibility for achieving holistic outcomes, prioritize key objectives, and adapt quickly when situations require a different approach. You follow through even against the toughest challenges.
- Team over Stars- You are a bridge builder, establishing processes and relationships with teams outside your own. You work to rally around common goals, find win-win solutions, compromise when necessary, and help others succeed.
- Growth over Comfort- You are driven by a desire to grow and actively seek opportunities to expand your comfort zone, skills, and confidence. You embrace new challenges with curiosity, accepting discomfort and failure as opportunities to learn.
- Fairness over Popularity- You approach decisions with a scientist’s mindset, challenging your assumptions and remaining objective. You consider long-term impact rather than relying on short-term gains, proactively seek others’ perspectives, and manage emotions in decision-making.
PlayOn is where high school sports come to life. Through GoFan, NFHS Network, and MaxPreps, we give every fan a front-row seat to the moments that matter most: the buzzer-beaters, the comeback wins, the senior nights, the rivalries that define a town.
We built our technology for the people who live and breathe high school athletics — the parents who never miss a game, the alumni still cheering from across the country, the communities that show up week after week. From buying tickets to watching a live stream to reliving the highlights, we make it simple to stay close to the sports and the athletes you love most.
Backed by KKR, we build the technology that powers high school athletics from the inside out: Schools trust us to handle ticketing, streaming, fundraising, concessions, merchandise, and more so the people running programs can stay focused on the athletes and fans we all serve together.
We're a growth-stage company on a mission to make high school sports more accessible, more memorable, and more connected than ever before.
When being there means everything, we make sure you never miss a moment.
