The Vacancy:
Purpose of the role:
Management and Execution of Measurement Systems and Analysis.
Duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for Performing and Maintaining detailed records of Inspection Plans, ISIRS, and FAIRS.
- Developing Measurement Policies to reduce scrap in the machine shop.
- To be participate in product Design Reviews to promote repeatability and reliability for production.
- Conduct capability studies / gage R&R as directed.
- Carries out such other duties that may be reasonably requested.
Person Specification:
Essential:
Qualifications
- Working Knowledge of Metrology with a background in Quality Engineering.
Experience
- Able to understand and read engineering drawings.
- Excellent knowledge of Quality Systems.
- Ability to Maintain Detailed Quality records.
Technical
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Applied Working Knowledge and use of basic Metrology tool, Imperial and Metric.
- PC literate including Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Skills and Competencies
- Understanding manufacturing processes and tolerances.
- Ability to clearly communicate technical information to technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to work unsupervised and meet deadline under pressure.
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
- Self-Motivated, with the ability to prioritise workload and met deadlines.
- Computer Skills.
Desirable:
Experience
- Experience with Co-ordinate Measurement Machine (CMM).
- Experience with Optical Measurement Systems.
- Internal Auditor to AS9100D.
Technical
- Familiarity with a wide range of material, primarily Plastics, Rubber and Metals and their method of inspection.
- Experience with First Article Inspection to AS9102.
