This programme connects you with a professional role and provides a fresh, compelling career path within one of our esteemed partner organisations.

These job roles are linked directly to free education, and upon completion of our course, you will be equipped to start your new role.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • 1.5+ years of experience in a technology-focused role using Python
  • Able to pass a technical assessment in Python, Java or Javascript
  • Commitment to complete a 16-week, part-time course to develop your mid-level skills

Our client is looking for a DevOps Engineer to help build, scale, and refine their continuous delivery ecosystem. In this role, you will champion an automation-first culture, streamlining how their engineering teams build, test, and deploy production software.

You will work at the intersection of development and operations—designing robust GitOps pipelines, modernising container deployments, and ensuring high platform reliability across our hybrid cloud environments. You’ll ideally have:

  • Collaborative DevOps Experience: Practical background building or maintaining automated delivery pipelines in a supportive team environment.
  • Hands-on Familiarity with Core Tools: Experience working with GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD, and Helm (or similar tools like Flux, Jenkins, or Terraform).
  • Container Fundamentals: Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes (experience with Red Hat OpenShift is a wonderful bonus!).
  • Thoughtful Problem-Solving: A proactive, helpful mindset with an interest in automating repetitive tasks using languages like Bash, Python, or Go.
  • Adaptable Cloud Knowledge: Exposure to public, private, or hybrid cloud environments (such as IBM Cloud, AWS, GCP, or Azure).

SOME THINGS YOU’LL BE WORKING ON

  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD (GitOps) and Helm.
  • Develop and optimise infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and related automation tools.
  • Support the containerisation and migration of legacy batch components into modern Kubernetes environments.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to improve build, deployment, and operational processes.
  • Maintain and enhance version control, artifact registries, and pipeline integrations.
  • Ensure alignment with AWS best practices for reliability, scalability, and security.

SKILLS YOU'LL DEVELOP

  • T-Shaped Skill Set: become the go-to person for your technical specialism in addition to building on your collaborative skills to understand and empathise with other tech roles and stakeholders
  • Technical Leadership: you'll develop your technical professional skills across mentoring, teamwork, stakeholder communication, and technical decision-making to put you on the pathway to senior individual contributor or technical management roles.
  • Agility & Automation: taking part in modern software development process, you'll further develop your Agile, DevOps and automation skills, deploying to the cloud.
  • Innovation & Inclusive products: by building products with DE&I at the core, you will further harness additional techniques in the software development process to foster the development of inclusive products.
