Position Summary

The Business Analyst is responsible for gathering, analyzing, and translating business and technical requirements into clear, actionable deliverables that enable high-quality technology solutions. Working cross-functionally with stakeholders, end users, and technical teams, this role ensures that business needs are well understood, documented, and effectively implemented across systems and workflows.

This role serves as a key liaison between business and technology teams, providing clarity, structure, and continuity throughout the delivery lifecycle. The Business Analyst will act as a subject matter resource across assigned initiatives, supporting alignment between strategic goals, operational processes, and technical solutions in a complex and evolving system landscape.

Expected Compensation Range: $95,000 -$110,000 per year. The exact salary rate is determined by experience and education related to the role, organizational compensation structure, and internal equity.

Location: Hybrid, St. Paul, MN

Key Responsibilities

Initiative Analysis & Requirements Management

  • Gather, analyze, and document business, functional, and technical requirements from stakeholders across business and technology teams.
  • Translate high-level objectives and concepts into detailed requirements, user stories, process flows, and data definitions.
  • Ensure requirements are clear, complete, and testable to support effective development and delivery.
  • Maintain traceability between business needs, requirements, and delivered solutions.

Documentation & Process Modeling

  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including business requirements, workflows, use cases, and system diagrams.
  • Analyze current state processes and define future state improvements to support efficiency, scalability, and business outcomes.
  • Identify gaps, risks, and dependencies across systems, workflows, and data flows.
  • Ensure documentation is accessible, accurate, and maintained throughout the lifecycle of initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Delivery Support

  • Partner closely with Product Managers and Technology Delivery teams to support backlog readiness, sequencing, and prioritization.
  • Work with architecture and engineering teams to clarify requirements, integration points, and non-functional needs.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies as appropriate, ensuring teams have the clarity and context needed to execute effectively.
  • Validate delivered work against documented requirements and intended outcomes, supporting acceptance and readiness.

Process, Data & Integration Analysis

  • Analyze data structures, system interactions, and integration points across platforms and services.
  • Define and document data requirements, transformations, and reporting needs.
  • Support troubleshooting and impact analysis for system changes, defects, and enhancements.
  • Contribute to the design of scalable and maintainable solutions across interconnected systems.

Communication & Stakeholder Enablement

  • Support organizational understanding of the broadcast modernization program by helping teams see how their work connects to the broader initiative.
  • Serve as a key liaison between strategic leadership, delivery teams, and operational stakeholders.
  • Communicate complex concepts clearly through structured documentation, diagrams, and presentations.
  • Keep leaders and contributors informed of requirement changes, risks, dependencies, and emerging insights.
  • Support organizational understanding of Pipes by helping teams see how their work connects to the broader initiative.

Key Qualifications

  • 5–7 years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or similar role on complex technology initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting large, multi-phase, cross-functional programs or platforms.
  • Strong experience with requirements gathering, documentation, and management techniques.
  • Ability to analyze complex systems, workflows, and integrations across multiple platforms.
  • Comfort working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methods and supporting backlog refinement and delivery readiness.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to clarity and precision.
  • Proven ability to synthesize diverse inputs into coherent, actionable artifacts.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage complexity and ambiguity.
  • Collaborative mindset with the confidence to ask questions, surface risks, and challenge assumptions constructively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with the following systems:
  • Order Management Software
  • Enterprise Resource Planning Software
  • CRM platforms (e.g. Salesforce)
  • Financial Management Software
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and diagramming or modeling tools.
  • Experience working on initiatives involving platform modernization or infrastructure transitions.
