About the Role
The Business Analyst serves as a key functional partner within the Technology team, providing insurance business domain expertise to analyse business needs, assess impacts, and drive effective technology solutions that support business objectives. The role requires close collaboration with business users, technology teams, and vendors across production support, enhancement initiatives, and project delivery.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
- Support existing AIAS employee benefits administration systems, including production support, BAU enhancements and project implementations.
- Partner with business stakeholders to understand business requirements, operational challenges, enhancement requests, and production issues.
- Drive business requirement scoping and analysis sessions, ensuring user requirements are clearly defined, adequately challenged, documented, and delivered within agreed timelines.
- Perform impact analysis across systems, processes, and integrations, and recommend practical, scalable, and sustainable solution options aligned with business and technology objectives.
- Analyze and review functional specification documents prepared by the technical team to ensure technical solution accurately meets and fully addresses all user requirements.
- Own and manage functional deliverables, including user requirements/user stories, process flows, test scenarios, and test plans.
- Conduct functional validation and QA testing before release to business users for UAT and support pre-production and post-production deployment verification.
- Facilitate requirement sign-offs, UAT sign-offs, and other project deliverables with business stakeholders.
- Proactively identify risks, dependencies, improvement opportunities and areas for process optimization. Risks to escalate to manager for implementing controls to effectively manage the risk.
- Understand and adhere to the company's SDLC, quality procedures, security standards, risk management, and compliance requirements.
- Contribute to digital transformation, automation, and innovation initiatives, including exploring opportunities to leverage AI and Generative AI capabilities where applicable.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Diploma or Degree in Business, Information Technology, or related disciplines
- Professional qualification in Group Insurance, i.e. Chartered Institute of Insurance (CII), Life Office Management Association (LOMA), will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst within Technology application development, or system support environments.
- Strong domain knowledge in insurance preferably Group Insurance.
- Experience supporting business applications, production incidents, enhancement initiatives and project delivery throughout the SDLC.
- Requires in-depth experience in Group Insurance, best practice and skills in own discipline.
- Strong communication/interpersonal, stakeholder management, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work independently and proactively in managing multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt effectively to changing requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess business needs and evaluate practical solution options.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality with positive attitude and willingness to go the extra mile when required.
- Articulate and proficient in written and spoken English.
- Hands-on experience technology skills, such as MS SQL, Jira, Confluence, MS Office, file transfer with encryption, and understanding IT security and data protection requirements.
- Exposure to AI, Generative AI initiatives, process automation, or digital innovation programmes will be an added advantage.
