GENERAL DESCRIPTION

  • The Healthcare Engineer reports to the Operation Manager and to obtain an engineering management or operation executive position in healthcare, construction field, building maintenance & operation, where it can be used by a strong analytical, detail-oriented and interpersonal skills along with exceptional common sense to improve services, reduce cost, delight customers and help mentor others.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Primary Objective

  • To assist the management on ensuring that all the Information Technology related equipment and system installed in the premises are in the best condition to serve the day to day operation.
  • Implementation of all maintenance works of the Mechanical, Electrical or Civil systems of building.
  • To plan Plan Preventive Maintenance schedule, Planning of major services (corrective, upgrading) required by the facilities.
  • To do hands on trouble-shooting and performs corrective maintenance on mechanical exhibits. Interpret performance data obtained by maintenance staff and predict breakdown.
  • Reviewing, updating and improving all maintenance procedure and requirement stipulated by law.
  • To provide technical advice to the project team for any related enhancement/ upgrading.
  • Managing and upgrading asset inventory. Control of stock, purchasing process and supply spare parts.
  • To plan and monitor yearly budget and expenses. Responsible for supervision and management of all staff in the department.
  • Attend to training courses provided and coordinating training for staffs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement teams and generates, develops, evaluates innovative ideas.
  • Provides advice and consultation to other personnel as regards facilities engineering matters, including compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Participates in the interviewing and hiring of new staff.
  • Prepare and manages applicable Facilities budget including capitals.
  • Review the cause of major repairs with affected operations management to prevent recurrences.
  • Discuss with these new equipment and facilities specifications according to requirements.
  • Analyze failures, breakdowns and repetitive repair causes.
  • Ensure departmental compliance with all related regulatory agencies.
  • Recommends work equipment and maintenance standards, procedures and performance criteria for on-going planned activities.
  • Prepares the annual budget request for the work unit.
  • To perform any others duties as and when required.

  • To assist KPJHQ and KPJHES on any report or information from hospital system.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • 1.A good degree from recognized university, preferably majoring in Mechanical / Electrical / Civil / Electronic or others Engineering
  • 2. At least 5 years’ experience in Facilities / Building Management System.
  • 3. Knowledge in Project Management.
  • 4. Ability to work independently, self motivated and result oriented.
  • 5. Good written and communication skills in Bahasa Malaysia & English Language are essential.
  • 6. Advantage: possess certificate for:
  • a. Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM)
  • b. Registered Electrical Energy Manager (REEM)
  • c. Certified Energy Manager (CEM)
  • d. Competent Person for STP Operation (CepSTPO)
  • e. Authorized Person in Medical Gas Pipeline System (AP)
  • f. Responsible Person for LPG System
  • 7. Good Interpersonal skill and able to interact with staffs at all levels.
