About the Team
We are a unique practice in the Canadian marketplace specializing in developing new insurance solutions and optimizing existing offerings for Affinity program sponsors. These programs are targeted at large customer or membership bases of clients whose core business is not always insurance (e.g. banks and other financial institutions, retailers, associations, hospitality providers and others).
Solutions are positioned to be complementary to the core services or product offerings of these Affinity organizations and the associated strategies that they employ to achieve key objectives of customer/member engagement, optimized customer experience, and revenue and business growth. Through our work, we are constantly challenging the market status quo.
The Role
We are seeking an aspiring analyst to join our multidisciplinary Affinity consulting team, where analytics and actuarial analysis play a central role in supporting client strategy, customer engagement, and operational excellence. The role will provide backend analytics through the integration of technology to streamlining of data collection, reconciliation with third party sources, and overall data management alongside support for the front lines of insurance analytics, client strategy, and product development & enhancement. The work will overarch a variety of insurance lines including travel insurance, embedded credit card insurance, personal home & auto insurance, and life and health insurance solutions and supports a variety of clients and unique solutions supporting an ever-evolving marketplace. As an analyst, you will be a key resource in preparing and reconciling data, developing and maintaining models, driving enhancements through AI, robotic automation and other streamlining tools, and supporting consulting engagements across the practice.
The ideal candidate can work well in teams as well as independently with appropriate guidance, assisting the local consulting teams driven by senior consultants in the practice. This will include:
- Leverage technical skills to streamline processes, enhance efficiencies, develop innovative approaches to complex actuarial and analytical problems.
- Data and reporting management:
- Compilation, reconciliation and integration of data into various models and reporting templates.
- Creation, maintenance, and enhancement to dashboards, together with input from our team and our clients.
- Enacting enhancements on large data set management in support of actuarial models.
- Programming and running of robotic automation routines to support regular analytics activities. Development of new routines to support greater efficiency in process across analytical activities.
- Integration of AI tools into existing processes to support streaming and efficiency associated with gathering, grouping, and analyzing data.
- Providing analytical support on various insurance business lines and programs.
- Support consulting mandates via analytics associated with pricing, loss reserving, profit-sharing, financial forecasting, scenario modeling, claims analytics, dashboard reporting, industry benchmarking, and other ad hoc analysis.
- Support actuarial and non-actuarial consultants by preparing and reconciling data, developing summary analyses, producing reports and presentations, and assisting with client and third-party communications etc.
