Lead Java Full Stack Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Lead Java Full Stack Engineer based in United States.

The Lead Java Full Stack Engineer will design, build, and support enterprise-grade web applications and distributed systems operating at significant scale. This hands-on technical leadership role spans the full software development lifecycle, from requirements and architecture through deployment and production support. You will combine deep Java and Spring expertise with modern front-end development to deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing applications. Working closely with product managers, architects, DevOps engineers, and other developers, you will contribute to solutions that directly support strategic business objectives. The environment is Agile, collaborative, and focused on engineering quality, automation, and continuous improvement. Accountabilities:

• Architect, design, develop, deploy, and maintain enterprise-grade web applications and distributed systems across multiple business domains.

• Translate business and technical requirements into scalable, maintainable, and production-ready software solutions.

• Provide technical leadership across the full engineering lifecycle, from solution design and coding through deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, and ongoing support.

• Develop robust backend services using Java 11/17, Spring Boot, microservices architectures, and clean RESTful API design.

• Build responsive, component-driven front-end applications using React and modern JavaScript technologies.

• Design and operate microservices, including service decomposition, inter-service communication, observability, and production reliability.

• Develop efficient database solutions using SQL and relational platforms such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server, including schema design and query optimization.

• Deploy and support cloud-native applications on AWS, Azure, or GCP, leveraging managed services, networking, security, and identity capabilities.

• Establish and maintain effective CI/CD pipelines, Git-based development workflows, branching strategies, code reviews, and release processes.

• Collaborate with product, architecture, DevOps, and engineering teams in an Agile environment to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business priorities.

• Investigate complex technical issues through structured debugging and root-cause analysis, documenting findings and implementing durable solutions.

• Contribute to engineering standards, automated testing, development best practices, system reliability, and continuous technical improvement.

• Where applicable, design event-driven solutions using technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ and contribute to containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related technical discipline.

• 5+ years of professional software development experience building production-grade enterprise applications, with 6+ years preferred for the lead-level scope.

• Advanced proficiency in Java, particularly versions 11 and 17, and strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot.

• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, computational complexity, object-oriented design, and end-to-end system architecture.

• Proven experience designing and operating microservices architectures, including service decomposition, inter-service communication, observability, and scalability considerations.

• Strong front-end development experience with React; familiarity with Angular or Vue is a plus.

• Strong SQL skills and practical experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server, including schema design and query tuning.

• Experience with Git-based version control, CI/CD pipelines, code reviews, branching strategies, and release management.

• Hands-on experience deploying and operating applications on at least one major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, analytical, and root-cause analysis capabilities, with a methodical approach to resolving complex engineering challenges.

• Experience with event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or comparable streaming technologies is preferred.

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes in production environments is a plus.

• Understanding of distributed systems concepts such as eventual consistency, CAP trade-offs, idempotency, and saga patterns is advantageous.

• Experience with automated testing and modern testing frameworks, including test-driven or behavior-driven development practices, is preferred.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
