Full description

About Moises Moises is a music creation and editing tool used by 70 million musicians worldwide. Named iPad App of the Year 2024 by Apple. Winner of Best Music App at the Microsoft Store Awards 2025.

The Role

As a Senior Product Designer at Moises, you'll shape how more than 70 million musicians experience AI. You'll design products that help people learn, practice, and create—from the very first interaction to the nuanced workflows they rely on every day. Your work will span Web, Desktop, TV, Mobile, and plugins, where every design decision contributes to a connected, cohesive product ecosystem. This role is about making powerful technology feel effortless. You'll transform complex AI capabilities into intuitive experiences through strong product thinking, systems thinking, and exceptional craft. Working closely with Product, Engineering, AI, and Data, you'll help define problems, explore solutions, validate ideas, and deliver products that musicians love. This is a role for a designer who is also a musician. Moises is professional-grade creative software, and designing it well requires someone who produces music themselves and knows DAWs and plugins from the inside—not from a distance. If audio production isn't part of your own life, this isn't the right role for you. We're looking for designers who combine curiosity with ownership. At Moises, velocity is the culture—not the exception. We work in small, highly collaborative teams with low ceremony and a bias toward action. You'll be trusted to navigate ambiguity, make thoughtful tradeoffs, and move quickly, always balancing simplicity, scalability, and user value.

What You Will Work O

  • Design across Moises's products—Web, Desktop, TV, and Mobile—keeping the experience coherent as musicians move between them.
  • Work on products musicians and producers rely on every day to practice, learn, rehearse, write, and produce music.
  • Translate complex audio AI into experiences that feel immediate and intuitive, without exposing the complexity underneath.
  • Run and synthesize research with musicians across skill levels and use cases, turning what you learn into decisions the team can act on.
  • Contribute to and evolve the design system, keeping it coherent and scalable across platforms.
  • Work the day to day toward one clear goal: shipping value to users, daily. In a single day you might talk with a few users, align messaging with a product marketing manager, present an idea to the CTO, align priorities with the VP of Product, work closely with engineers and other product teams, and ship a new feature—your job is to read each of those levels and execute with excellence across all of them.
  • Give and receive direct, specific design critique that raises the quality bar for everyone working on the product.

What We Are Looking For

  • Deep, hands-on experience producing music. You actively make music, and you do it in professional tools. You know what a good creative workflow feels like because you work in one every day.
  • Real fluency with DAWs and VST/AU plugins. You understand professional audio workflows from the inside (recording, MIDI, mixing, routing, signal flow), and ideally you've designed or built instruments, effects, or plugins yourself.
  • 5+ years designing complex software that real people use daily, with a portfolio showing powerful technology made to feel simple, including AI-native products and the UX challenges of probabilistic systems.
  • Fluency moving between fidelities fast, from napkin sketch to coded prototype in a day, because the fastest way to settle a debate is to make the thing real—motion and interaction animation included when a decision hinges on how something feels.
  • Comfort in ambiguity and zero-to-one work: you have shipped before the problem was well-defined, without a design system, a clear spec, or a playbook to copy.
  • Mastery of interaction patterns: you understand which pattern best serves each problem and how to apply it well, and when there's nothing to follow, you can create a new one that feels as simple and familiar as an established design pattern—coherent across Web, Desktop, TV, and Mobile.
  • Strong written communication: you can explain the reasoning behind a design decision as clearly as you can show it in Figma.
  • Proven ability to do your own research and bring it back as product direction, not just design artifacts. You talk to customers, watch how they work, and walk out knowing what to build next.
  • Prototypes in code as a default, not a last resort. Cursor, Claude Code, or similar tools are already part of how you work.

What It Is Like to Work Here

The team is distributed across Brazil, the United States, and Europe, with offices in João Pessoa, Salt Lake City, and São Paulo. Designers work remotely and in hybrid arrangements depending on location. Coordination happens across time zones, so written communication and async judgment matter more here than they do at most companies. You'll report directly to the VP of Product, and we'll look to you to pair your music production expertise with your design skills and bring a clear point of view, not just deliverables. Moises is the creative suite for musicians, and because you are one, you already understand the stakes of the tools we make. You will still spend time with musicians across skill levels—from bedroom producers to working professionals—watching how they actually use the product and what gets in their way. Your own experience is the starting point, not a substitute for that research. It is how good design decisions get made here. You will be working alongside a product design team that is already thinking hard about consistency, systems, and how AI surfaces should behave. You will contribute to that work directly, not inherit it from a distance.
