Job Overview:

Óptima Seguros relies on a suite of internally built platforms and products that support critical operations—ranging from business and back-office processes to interactions with customers, brokers, and partners. We are seeking a Product Manager to take direct ownership of several of these internal products and work with the development team to evolve, expand, and modernize them.

This is a Product Manager role with a traditional focus but set within a non-traditional context. The PM takes ownership of existing products that have a history and real users within the organization; defines and executes the roadmap; envisions solutions; prioritizes the backlog by balancing new functionality with technical debt; and collaborates directly with the internal development team to take initiatives from concept to production. We are looking for someone with a strong product mindset, comfort working with and incrementally modernizing legacy systems, and the initiative to launch, advance, and execute work without requiring granular direction.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Ownership:

● Assume end-to-end ownership of various internally built products and platforms, understanding their history, users, operational role, and technical evolution.

● Define and maintain the vision and roadmap for each product under your purview, aligned with the group's strategy and operational needs.

Discovery and User Research

● Engage with internal platform users—teams across underwriting, claims, customer service, finance, and operations—to understand current usage, friction points, and needs.

● Map processes and workflows dependent on each product to identify opportunities for improvement, automation, or redesign.

Solution Design and Prototyping:

● Translate discovery findings into flows, wireframes, and navigable prototypes to validate them with internal users before committing development capacity.

● Use the prototype as a primary tool for alignment with stakeholders and the development team.

Roadmap and Prioritization:

● Build and maintain a prioritized backlog that balances new functionality, UX improvements, technical debt, system integrations, etc.

● Define clear, actionable specifications—including acceptance criteria, dependencies, and success metrics—for the development team.

● Communicate the roadmap to operational stakeholders and executives, managing expectations and trade-offs.

Delivery and Execution:

● Collaborate daily with the development team to move initiatives from discovery to delivery, participating in Agile ceremonies, story refinement, and technical decisions.

● Facilitate working sessions, remove blockers, and maintain momentum throughout the product lifecycle.

Metrics and Iteration

● Define success metrics for each product and initiative upfront; measure post-launch results and iterate.

● Document decisions, lessons learned, and the evolution of each product to build institutional memory.

Required Education and Experience:

● Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or demonstrable equivalent experience.

● 3–5+ years of experience as a Product Manager, Associate Product Manager with clear career progression, or in an equivalent role involving digital product ownership.

● Proven track record of taking products from one stage to the next with quantifiable results (adoption, usage, efficiency, satisfaction, etc.).
