Summary:
GrayWolf is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Site QA/QC Manager to ensure thorough testing, so all products and services meet client requirements and company standards. QA QC Managers must possess a strong background in the ASME B&PV Codes, including but not limited to Sections I, VIII-1, IX B31.1 and B31.3. Candidate must possess a strong background in the development, implementation, and understanding of ASME Welding Procedures (WPS) and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ).
Essential Functions
- Planning duties within the QA/QC group to execute QA/QC activities.
- Promotes, trains, encourages, and otherwise ensures adherence to the QMS as well as applicable Codes and Standards.
- Ensures all QA/QC requirements are met and are fully in compliance. This includes inspection and testing of “in progress” as well as completed systems and installations.
- Maintain the project inspection and test plan (ITP), schedule field or laboratory tests, and witness concrete pours, structural welds, and equipment settingsTrack and forecast labor requirements and resource usage throughout the project lifecycle (hours earned/burned and productivity).
- Write daily quality control reports, track submittals, and maintain audit-ready material certification files.
- Open, track, and close nonconformance reports (NCRs) alongside superintendents and engineers of record when work fails to meet standardsProvide accurate, timely reporting to both internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Participation safety program, attending safety meetings and other related activities as required.
- Must be able to work variable hours as needed including weekends and holidays.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a QA/QC Inspector, preferred at least 1 year as QC Manager.
- CWI required
- Ability to read blueprints, interpret work plans and use inventory tracking software
- Strong understanding of US based construction methods, field operations, and scheduling best practices.
- OSHA 10/30 preferred but not required
Desired Skills or Knowledge
- Ability to coordinate and facilitate work across a broad range of personnel, supervision, craft, engineers and project managers. Must be collaborative and able to openly engage with colleagues to achieve project goals.
- Must be very well-organized and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with a high rate of accuracy.
- Must be flexible with day-to-day duties and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
- Experience in O365 – Sharepoint, Teams, Excel and MS Project
- Knowledge of B31.1. B31.3 code is required
Physical/Site Requirements:
- Lift and carry heavy items weighing up to 45 pounds.
- Move in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven areas. Full range of motion and flexibility consistent with age.
- Work up to a 12-hour shift in varying temperature extremes and other outside conditions.
- Climb and maintain balance on steel framework, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
- PPE footwear/prescription safety glasses or eye shields required. This job site requires long sleeves
