(Job Summary)
The Interior Design Project Manager will support Turnberry’s creative vision by managing assigned interior design projects from inception through completion and coordinating design, procurement, construction, and operational stakeholders.
This role is a key member of the Development team and will support current and upcoming real estate projects, including retail, office, restaurant, hotel, and mixed-use environments.
The position requires strong project management, communication, and organizational skills. The ideal candidate can independently manage schedules, budgets, deliverables, design documentation, approvals, and vendor coordination across projects of varying scope and property type.
What You Do:
(Duties/Responsibilities)
- Manage assigned interior design projects from concept through installation and closeout, ensuring alignment with approved design intent, scope, budget, schedule, and quality standards.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, responsibility matrices, decision logs, procurement trackers, and status reports.
- Coordinate internal Development and Operations partners with architects, contractors, interior design consultants, purchasing agents, suppliers, and vendors.
- Facilitate project meetings, document decisions and action items, and follow through on deadlines and required approvals.
- Coordinate the review and approval of space plans, FF&E layouts, material selections, casework, millwork, flooring, wall and ceiling finishes, doors, plumbing fixtures, and decorative lighting.
- Review design specifications, drawings, submittals, mock-ups, samples, shop drawings, and purchase orders for compliance with ownership standards, design intent, schedule, and budget.
- Support consultant selection and the Request for Proposals process, including scope development, proposal review, fee leveling, and contract coordination.
- Manage the FF&E procurement process in partnership with purchasing agents and the Turnberry Project Management team, including specifications, purchasing, delivery, installation, and issue resolution.
- Monitor project costs, identify variances and risks, and escalate issues with recommended solutions.
- Coordinate with construction teams during execution, conduct site visits as needed, respond to field conditions, and track design-related issues through resolution.
- Maintain clear, concise communication with internal and external stakeholders and provide timely, actionable direction.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with consultants, suppliers, manufacturers, contractors, and vendors.
- Coordinate interior design activities with Operations to support a seamless transition from construction through opening and closeout.
- Maintain organized project records, including approvals, specifications, schedules, budgets, meeting notes, and closeout documentation.
- Support junior team members by sharing project information, design standards, and established processes.
- Maintain composure under pressure, manage competing priorities, and consistently meet project deadlines.
- Identify compliance, quality, budget, and schedule risks and take appropriate steps to minimize their impact.
- Perform other duties as assigned and required.

What You Bring to the Table:
(Requirements)
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of relevant interior design and project management experience, preferably supporting luxury hospitality, residential, retail, restaurant, office, or mixed-use developments.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects through design development, construction documentation, procurement, installation, and closeout.
- Strong knowledge of interior design principles, FF&E, finishes, construction methods, material applications, and vendor capabilities.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, interior design documents, specifications, shop drawings, and construction schedules.
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, consultant deliverables, and procurement activities.
- Strong organizational, communication, follow-up, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint; experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, or comparable design and project management tools preferred.
- Knowledge of applicable building codes, accessibility requirements, and industry standards preferred.
- NCIDQ certification or progress toward certification preferred.
