Senior Business Analyst - Data Retention, Dublin

Location/Office Policy: Central Park, Leopardstown, Dublin 18 - 3 days per week onsite

What is the Role:

The Senior Business Analyst plays a key role in supporting the Data Retention & Governance Team to deliver strategic and regulatory change across AIB. The role will translate business needs and regulatory obligations into clear requirements, process designs and controls, with a particular focus on data retention and records management.

Sitting within the Data Retention & Governance Team, the role operates across business, technology, data, risk, compliance, legal and operational teams. You will translate business needs, regulatory obligations and strategic objectives into structured, implementable requirements and solution designs for data retention.

The role provides the opportunity to shape enterprise-wide data retention and records management capabilities, working with senior stakeholders across business, technology, risk, compliance and legal functions.

This role has specific accountability for:

• Lead the identification, analysis, documentation and management of business, functional, data and operational requirements across strategic and regulatory initiatives.

• Translate business needs, regulatory obligations and strategic objectives into clear requirements, process maps, use cases, user stories, impact assessments and traceability documentation.

• Perform gap analysis, root cause analysis and process reviews to identify opportunities for improvement, automation, efficiency and risk reduction.

• Facilitate workshops with a wide set of stakeholders to elicit requirements, resolve issues, build consensus and support effective decision-making.

• Lead analysis and process design supporting records management capabilities, future-state operating models, controls and governance arrangements.

• Work with programme managers, project managers, product owners, architects and subject matter experts to manage scope, risks, issues, dependencies and decision points.

• Support BAT and UAT through test scenarios, test data, acceptance criteria, defect resolution, implementation readiness and business sign-off.

• Prepare clear analysis, recommendations, decision materials and delivery updates for programme and governance forums.

• Support implementation planning, organisational change and the adoption of new processes, controls and ways of working.

• Represent the Data Retention & Governance function in cross-functional initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives, policies and governance standards.

What you Will Bring:

• 5+ years’ experience as a Business Analyst within financial services or another regulated environment

• Strong experience in data management, data governance or regulatory change initiatives

• Proven ability to define and manage complex business and data requirements

• Experience delivering change involving data flows, controls and system impacts

• Strong stakeholder engagement, workshop facilitation and written communication skills

• Experience producing governance, risk, impact assessment and decision documentation

• Ability to analyse processes, data and operating models and translate findings into practical recommendations

• Experience working across multiple business and technology teams within a large organisation

• Experience working within Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery methodologies

• Strong planning, organisation, accountability and stakeholder management skills

• Experience in records management, information governance, GDPR, privacy-enhancing technologies, enterprise data platforms or data analysis would be beneficial
