About this Role

Operational Financial Analyst IIn office Monday through Friday4770 N Belleview Ave, Kansas City, MO 64116

It is ideal for candidates with 1-3 years of experience in Billing, Project Cost, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, or General Accounting, preferably in a supply chain, logistics, or materials-related industry.

You will set up and maintain customer accounts and projects, manage month-end billing, and ensure accurate and timely invoicing. You will track job profitability by reviewing revenue, costs, and margins, and help keep financial records accurate and audit-ready.

You will work closely with operations, Buyers, and Category Managers to resolve billing issues, support forecasting, and review project performance. The role also includes supporting Salesforce CRM workflows, managing change orders, assisting with project closeouts, and helping prepare financial reports and audit documentation.

This position helps ensure strong financial visibility and supports better business decision-making.

What You'll Do

  • 1-3 years of professional experience as a Financial Analyst.
  • Set up and manage projects and work orders in JD Edwards, ensuring accurate financial structures and contract compliance.
  • Track job profitability by analyzing revenue, costs, and margin trends across active projects.
  • Partner with operational teams to review project performance, forecast accuracy, and budget adherence.
  • Generate, validate, and maintain operational financial reports.
  • Monitor billing milestones and ensure timely invoice generation per contractual schedules.
  • Collaborate with Bid teams, Buyers, and Category Managers to resolve billing or cost discrepancies.
  • Manage change orders and project closeouts in line with internal controls.
  • Keep project financials current, audit-ready, and aligned with company policies.
  • Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding costs, billing, and project financial status.
  • Support audits with detailed project documentation.
  • Adhere to internal financial policies to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance.
  • Issue, track, and manage lien waivers to meet customer and legal requirements.

What You'll Bring

  • Solid understanding of billing practices and project cost management.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
  • Familiarity with EDI, PO management, and customer portals.
