Job Description

Must have skills

• 7+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• Strong commercial experience developing backend applications in Golang (Go).
• Deep expertise designing, building, and operating distributed systems on AWS.
• Experience building cloud-native applications leveraging AWS services and modern architectural patterns.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, monitoring, observability, and production support.
• Experience designing scalable, resilient, and highly available software solutions.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and influence engineering best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills, excellent communication, and a product-focused engineering mindset.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Experience with Kubernetes, containerized workloads, and serverless AWS architectures.
• Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code, including AWS CDK, Terraform, or Pulumi.
• Experience working within large-scale consumer platforms or high-traffic distributed systems.
• Experience with MySQL or other relational database technologies.
• Familiarity with architectural governance practices such as ADRs and RFCs.
• Frontend development experience with TypeScript and modern frameworks is beneficial but not essential.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, deploy, and support highly scalable customer-facing products and services.
• Develop robust backend services using Golang, leveraging modern software engineering best practices.
• Architect and implement cloud-native solutions within AWS and Kubernetes environments.
• Build and maintain APIs, integrations, and distributed systems that support large-scale platform operations.
• Drive improvements in code quality, automated testing, observability, CI/CD pipelines, and release automation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, conduct root cause analysis, and improve system reliability.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering teams to define technical solutions and influence platform strategy.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to the team's technical direction, architecture, and engineering standards.
