Amazon North America Stores (NAS) Design organization is seeking our next senior UX designer. Our team is dedicated to being the beacon of design excellence within the highly visual, emotive, and impassioned space where shopping and innovative technology meet. We need your experience, optimism, and energy to build simple, fluid, and beautiful experiences that accommodate Amazon's growing and diverse product selection, and give customers everything they need to make confident buying decisions while delighting them along the way.

The right person for this role sets and communicates a high bar for quality, collects data, and triangulates a variety of inputs into insights that inform customer-centered design solutions. Key job responsibilities

  • Design the user experience of key, differentiated features for North American Stores categories
  • Design solutions for complex design and technical problems where product strategy is not fully defined
  • Create conceptual sketches, wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, and prototypes using AI tools
  • Collaborate effectively across diverse teams and disciplines to drive alignment and efficiency
  • Develop and improve design patterns, standards, and processes that scale for your team
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and present at cross-team reviews to demonstrate features and drive design decisions
  • Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data (metrics, usability studies) to inform product-level customer experience decisions
  • Work closely with engineering to incorporate capabilities and constraints of the technology stack
  • Balance short- and long-term design requirements against engineering constraints

Basic Qualifications: - 7+ years of UX designer or interaction designer experience - Have an online portfolio or samples of work on resume, demonstrating experience creating great end-to-end, user-centered design solutions and patterns, across desktop and mobile devices - Knowledge of usability principles and techniques - Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards - Experience acquiring user data (e.g., conducting usability studies, performing user research) and creating personas and journey maps - Experience designing and prototyping with tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, or similar - Experience with multiple cycles of platform or product design

Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with UX design of complex workflows - Knowledge of best practices for information architecture and design - Experience leading creative development of innovative creative from concept to delivery - Usage of generative AI tools to enhance workflow efficiency, with a willingness to learn effective prompting and evaluation practices - Ability to recognize opportunities where generative AI could enhance products, workflows, or customer experiences

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
