In this role, you will take technical ownership across the entire software stack, translating complex product requirements into resilient architectures using Ruby on Rails and Ember.js. Operating with high autonomy within an Agile engineering team, you will drive technical decisions, mentor peers, and collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to deliver seamless, impactful user experiences.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

Professional Experience

  • 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and maintaining full-stack web applications
  • 3+ years of dedicated, hands-on experience developing backend services with Ruby, with a strong focus on Ruby on Rails
  • Proven experience developing modern, interactive frontend interfaces using Ember.js or modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Demonstrated track record in designing, building, and consuming APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC)
  • Solid background in relational database schema design, complex SQL query optimization, and automated testing

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable full-stack applications using Ruby on Rails and Ember.js
  • Own feature delivery end-to-end—from architectural planning and task estimation to production deployment and monitoring
  • Design, implement, and consume efficient APIs (REST, GraphQL, gRPC) connecting frontend interfaces with backend services
  • Optimize application performance, database queries, and frontend rendering to ensure low latency and high reliability
  • Write comprehensive unit and integration test suites to maintain code quality, maintainability, and test coverage
  • Actively participate in architectural discussions, establish engineering best practices, and mentor fellow engineers

  • Hands-on experience implementing web application security standards (OWASP Top 10, OAuth2)
  • Advanced performance tuning skills (caching strategies with Redis/Memcached, background jobs, database indexing)
  • Prior experience collaborating within distributed, remote-first engineering teams

Soft Skills
