Project Manager – Data Management & Transformation
THE ROLE
The Project Manager – Data Management & Transformation will lead the delivery of strategic data initiatives, with a focus on Data Quality (DQ) remediation, data management capabilities, and enterprise data transformation programmes. The role is responsible for coordinating cross-functional teams, managing project plans, and driving execution across business and technology stakeholders.
The successful candidate will bring strong programme and project management expertise, coupled with practical experience delivering data-focused initiatives involving data quality improvement, data lineage, data models, system design, and data governance capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
1) Project & Programme Delivery
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of data management and transformation initiatives.
- Develop and manage integrated project plans, milestones, delivery schedules, and critical paths.
- Coordinate activities across business, data, technology, architecture, and vendor teams.
- Drive project execution from mobilisation through implementation and transition.
- Ensure delivery aligns with agreed scope, timelines, budget, and quality objectives.
2) Data Transformation & Data Quality Initiatives
- Manage programmes focused on Data Quality (DQ) remediation and continuous data quality improvement.
- Coordinate initiatives related to data governance, data lineage, metadata management, and master data management.
- Support the implementation of enterprise data management frameworks and capabilities.
- Track and monitor data-related deliverables, dependencies, and remediation activities.
- Ensure alignment between business objectives and data management outcomes.
3) Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Partner with business stakeholders, data owners, technology teams, architects, and external vendors.
- Facilitate project governance meetings, working groups, and steering forums.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure effective communication across all project participants.
- Escalate risks, issues, and decision points appropriately to leadership teams.
4) Risk, Issue & Dependency Management
- Maintain and manage RAID logs (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies).
- Identify project delivery risks and drive mitigation plans.
- Manage dependencies across multiple workstreams and transformation initiatives.
- Establish project controls and reporting mechanisms to support effective governance.
5) Data & Technology Delivery Coordination
- Work closely with data architects, solution architects, business analysts, and engineering teams.
- Support the delivery of initiatives relating to:
- Data Models
- Data Lineage
- Data Governance
- Data Quality Frameworks
- System Design
- Data Integration
- Data Platforms
- Ensure technical deliverables remain aligned with business requirements and programme objectives.
6) Governance, Reporting & Financial Management
- Prepare project status reports, dashboards, and executive updates.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and resource plans.
- Monitor project performance against key delivery metrics and milestones.
- Support programme governance and executive decision-making through timely reporting and escalation management.
Required Experience & Qualifications
• 8-12+ years of experience in Project Management, Programme Management, or Transformation Delivery.Proven experience delivering Data Management, Data Governance, or Data Transformation programmes.Strong experience managing Data Quality (DQ) remediation initiatives.Experience delivering projects involving:
- Data Lineage
- Data Models
- Data Governance
- Metadata Management
- Data Integration
- Enterprise Data Platforms
- System Design
Experience coordinating multiple business and technology workstreams.Experience working in large-scale enterprise transformation environments.Financial Services, Banking, Insurance, or highly regulated industry experience is preferred.
