At APTIV, we design, develop, and validate systems to improve safety and comfort in vehicles. This includes the development of innovative computer vision features and machine learning algorithms for exterior cameras. Examples of features are vehicle and pedestrian detection, lane detection, traffic sign and traffic light recognition.

Your role
- Design, train, evaluate, and optimize state-of-the-art machine learning models for camera-based perception.
- Apply modern approaches such as transformers, vision transformers, convolutional neural networks, representation learning, and self-supervised learning.
- Improve model performance, robustness, generalization, computational efficiency, and inference latency.
- Share knowledge and help strengthen engineering excellence within the team.
- Collaborate with software engineers, system engineers, validation teams, and other AI/ML specialists across an international organization.
Your background
- Master's degree or higher in computer science, applied mathematics or related field
- Practical experience with several of the following:
-Transformers and vision transformers
-Convolutional neural networks
-Representation learning
-Self-supervised or semi-supervised learning
-Classical computer vision
-Large-scale model training
- Strong foundation in linear algebra, probability, and optimization.
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience writing maintainable, production-quality code.
- A commitment to software quality, including testing, documentation, code reviews, and reproducible development practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in development in Rust
- Experience in development of production-grade AI solutions
- Experience with Git, CI/CD, and Agile development.
- Familiarity with ADAS, autonomous driving, or automotive datasets.
- Understanding of classical computer vision and camera calibration
- Experience with large-scale training infrastructure.
- Familiarity with embedded or resource-constrained AI deployment.
