Candidates must have at least 5 years of project management experience, preferably with a PMP certification and a background in the nonprofit sector. Proficiency in managing technology deployments such as Salesforce or NetSuite is required, along with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Full description

In this forward-looking, proactive role, you will oversee and be responsible for managing six to ten projects at a time, dependent on size and complexity. You will drive projects forward and be an advocate for successful outcomes that serve both California Food Banks™ and the team’s priorities.

With your strong communication and interpersonal skills, you will build trusted advisor relationships with our team members and take the lead in managing crucial project conversations effectively. You will provide transparency around budget, schedule and scope while navigating technical or association complexity, with the higher goal of guiding effective decision-making that supports the key project objectives.

You will nurture a collaborative environment, identifying and removing obstacles to productivity and integrating interdependent workstreams. You will provide a long-range view and the objective perspective needed to deliver great work on time and on budget.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Guide projects to successful completion
  • Provide leadership on large, multi-faceted projects
  • Lead project kickoff, planning and status meetings
  • Be accountable for driving, monitoring and controlling project activities
  • Oversee project schedules and budgets
  • Guide and drive effective decision-making
  • Identify and remove barriers to productivity for project team
  • Promote effective communication across teams and stakeholders
  • Build trusted relationships
  • Manage all aspects of change throughout a project
  • Participate in the development and review of project deliverables
  • Participate in portfolio review and resourcing activities

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience working within the nonprofit sector
  • Experience managing complex technology projects, ideally Salesforce CRM, NetSuite or another CRM deployments
  • Experience with Box Content Mgmt. and Microsoft technology
  • Experience working closely with Salesforce and NetSuite
  • Experience managing relationships with clients or external stakeholders
  • Experience with RFP vendor selection
  • Flexibility to travel on occasion
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to present complex technical information in an understandable way.
  • 5+ years of experience managing projects
  • PMP Certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Expert knowledge of business processes in the nonprofit and/or community development sector.
