Overview The Azure Dedicated team is a tightly integrated vertical team who have an exciting charter to deploy any workload anywhere in the world to Azure. Workloads span industries from Fintech and general purpose scenarios like Storage all the way to gigantic scale AI training workloads. We have a multi-disciplinary team working cohesively to innovate at bleeding edge and deliver for our customers, some of the most well known names in the world.
As a Senior Cloud Network Engineer in the Azure Dedicated Team, you will design Network Fabrics for both traditional ethernet networks and back-end networks such as RDMA and Infiniband to allow our organization to build and integrate the next generation of AI workloads to Azure. You will seek to create highly reliable and resilient designs and seek to learn and grow at the forefront of one of the hottest spaces in the tech industry for the foreseeable future. You will interface with customers, industry vendors, 3rd party providers and fellow Microsoft colleagues daily producing world-class designs to manage Pbps level of traffic. This opportunity will allow you to build your skill set with real scale out networks, develop a bigger and wider network in the industry and satisfy some of the most demanding customer needs.

Responsibilities
- You drive deep and complex partnerships with 3rd parties to satisfy seamless integrations of various network stacks and topologies to interface cleanly with Azure’s planetary-scale networks through well understood and well documented designs.
- Triages, troubleshoots, repairs, and root causes service impact issues by applying learnings and insights in physical network components and features (e.g., device operating systems). Triages, troubleshoots, and repairs, and root causes management tools/processes (e.g., root cause analysis, trend analysis, postmortems, repair items to prevent recurrence, change management). Triages, troubleshoots, and repairs, and root causes low-level Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) and register sets, to diagnose and address problems using automated, long-term, secure, and sustainable solutions with minimal or no disruption to customers.
- Participates in on-call/DRI duties to resolve incidents in production and provides guidance to other engineers on triage, troubleshooting, and resolution processes.
- Works in collaboration with teams across a single organization to develop reliable, secure, scalable, and high-performance, network designs. Independently produces design documents and implementation plans (e.g., migration).
- Leads design, network/code, test plan, and security reviews across teams in the same organization to identify risks and prevent classes of bugs prior to production release by applying learnings or insights from previous network implementation, currently available technologies, analysis of telemetry pipelines, and root cause analysis, as well as best practices in identifying and implementing solutions.
- Articulates the customer impact of design trade-offs and exceptions, and identifies capabilities and limitations of existing tools and resources to ensure they can support design implementation and verification.

- OR equivalent experience.

- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Cloud Network Engineering IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
