AWS Industries Healthcare and Life Sciences (AWSI HCLS) is responsible for driving cloud and AI adoption across the world's leading healthcare providers, life sciences companies, and health technology organizations. The AWSI HCLS team partners with pharmaceutical, biotech, medtech, and health system customers to design and implement cloud architectures that address industry-specific challenges — from clinical trial modernization and regulatory compliance to generative AI and data-driven patient outcomes.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for experienced and motivated technologists who possess a unique balance of technical depth and strong interpersonal skills to join our Healthcare & Life Sciences (HCLS) organization within AWS Industries. You will partner with some of the world's largest pharmaceutical companies, biotech organizations, and health technology ISVs to design cloud architectures that address industry-specific business challenges and accelerate the adoption of AWS services. In collaboration with account managers, you will assist in driving growth across a defined set of HCLS customers. As a trusted customer advocate, you will help organizations understand best practices around advanced cloud-based solutions — including clinical AI, data interoperability, regulatory compliance, and generative AI — and how to migrate existing workloads to the cloud. You will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mind-share and broad use of AWS within enterprise life sciences customers. The ability to connect technology with measurable business value across the LifeSciences value chain is critical to this role. You should also have a demonstrated ability to think strategically about business, products, and technical challenges in regulated industries.

Key job responsibilities - Ensure success in building and migrating applications, software and services on the AWS platform

- In partnership with the account management team, formulate and execute a strategy

- Educate customers of all sizes on the value proposition of AWS, and participate in deep architectural discussions to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud

- Conduct one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to customers considering or already using AWS

- Capture and share best-practice knowledge amongst the AWS solutions architect community

- Author or otherwise contribute to AWS customer-facing publications such as whitepapers

- Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within customers to enable them to be cloud advocates Act as a technical liaison between customers, service engineering teams and support

Basic Qualifications: - 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience - 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience - 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

Preferred Qualifications: - Experience architecting infrastructure solutions using both Linux/Unix and Windows with specific recommendations on server, load balancing, HA/DR, & storage architectures - Experience with presentations and speaking with executives, IT, management, and developers - Cloud Technology Certification (such as Solutions Architecture, Cloud Security Professional or Cloud DevOps Engineering) - Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients - Knowledge of distributed applications/enterprise applications - Experience working with global Life Sciences companies or hands on experience with complex cloud and digital transformation projects. - Familiarity with common enterprise services (Directory Services, Information Assurance, Identity and Access Management, etc.), products (i.e., Veeva, SAP) and frameworks (ITIL, Zachman, TOGAF, GxP, HIPAA, etc.)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
