Cloud Architect – Retail & Multi-Industry

Oracle is seeking a motivated Cloud Solution Architect with experience in cloud technologies, solution design, and customer-facing technical engagements.

In this role, you will collaborate with customers across Retail, Consumer Goods, Manufacturing, Distribution, and other industries to understand their technology challenges and recommend cloud solutions aligned with their business objectives.

You will support cloud architecture discussions, technical assessments, migration planning, and cloud economics evaluations, helping customers understand the operational and financial benefits of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

The ideal candidate combines hands-on technical knowledge with analytical thinking, strong communication skills, and an interest in developing expertise in cloud architecture, financial modeling, and consultative solution development.

Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Solution Design

• Support the design and recommendation of secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud architectures aligned with customer requirements.
• Participate in technical discussions covering cloud infrastructure, databases, applications, integrations, security, resilience, and high availability.
• Assist customers with cloud adoption initiatives, including infrastructure assessments, architecture design, migration planning, and optimization.
• Collaborate with senior architects and technical specialists to develop hybrid and multicloud solutions leveraging Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
• Contribute to technical proposals, solution demonstrations, and proof-of-concept activities.

Business Value & Cloud Economics

• Support the development of cloud business cases highlighting financial and operational benefits.
• Assist with Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), Return on Investment (ROI), and cloud cost assessments.
• Analyze infrastructure costs, resource utilization, and cloud consumption models to identify potential optimization opportunities.
• Help customers understand cloud pricing structures and CAPEX versus OPEX considerations.
• Collaborate with sales and technical teams to communicate the business value of proposed cloud solutions.

Customer Engagement & Collaboration

• Work directly with customers to understand technical requirements, business priorities, and cloud modernization objectives.
• Participate in customer workshops, technical presentations, and solution discussions.
• Build productive working relationships with customer technical teams, architects, and business stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Oracle Sales, Solution Engineering, Consulting, and Customer Success teams to support customer engagements.
• Manage assigned technical activities and deliverables while maintaining effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.

Technical Expertise & Continuous Development

• Apply cloud architecture principles and best practices to support solution development.
• Contribute to technical documentation, reference architectures, solution proposals, and implementation recommendations.
• Support discussions related to cloud infrastructure, data platforms, analytics, AI services, and application modernization.
• Develop knowledge of cloud security, governance, disaster recovery, and business continuity.
• Stay informed about emerging cloud technologies, AI capabilities, and industry trends.
• Continuously strengthen technical, analytical, and customer-facing skills.

Responsibilities

Professional Experience

• 3+ years of relevant experience in cloud engineering, cloud consulting, infrastructure, solution architecture, or related technical roles.
• Experience supporting the design, implementation, or modernization of enterprise technology solutions.
• Exposure to customer-facing technical engagements, consulting projects, or cross-functional technology initiatives.
• Ability to work independently on defined technical assignments and collaborate with senior specialists on more complex initiatives.

Cloud & Technical Knowledge

• Working knowledge of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, or other enterprise cloud platforms.
• Understanding of cloud infrastructure concepts, including compute, storage, networking, databases, and virtualization.
• Familiarity with cloud migration, infrastructure modernization, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Understanding of cloud security, availability, disaster recovery, and architecture best practices.
• Ability to interpret technical requirements and contribute to solution architecture recommendations.

Business & Financial Understanding

• Basic understanding of cloud pricing, infrastructure costs, and cloud consumption models.
• Familiarity with TCO, ROI, and CAPEX versus OPEX concepts.
• Analytical skills to support cost comparisons, business case development, and financial assessments.
• Ability to communicate technical information and business benefits clearly.

Communication & Collaboration

• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with customers, technical specialists, and commercial teams.
• Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn new technologies.
