As a Data Analyst within Integrated Compliance NL, you will help make the Compliance function truly data driven. By combining advanced analytics, machine learning, automation and GenAI solutions, you will enable Compliance stakeholders to gain valuable insights, improve decision making and strengthen the effectiveness and efficiency of Compliance processes across the organisation.

The team

Integrated Compliance NL (IC) is part of the Compliance NL department. The team plays a critical role in providing stakeholders with a transparent and timely view of Compliance risks and valuable insights to support strategic decision making. The team fosters a strong data culture and helps Compliance become compliant by desire and design.

You will be part of the Compliance Data Analytics team, consisting of 9 colleagues. Together with Compliance experts and other data analysts and data scientists across the wider Risk community, you contribute to the development of innovative data-driven solutions that enhance Compliance activities across ING.

Roles and responsibilities

In this role, you will analyse data to identify patterns, generate insights and support strategic decision making within the Compliance domain. Your responsibilities include:

  • Support the implementation of the Compliance Data Strategy, including the productisation of Compliance processes and activities.
  • Build, maintain and improve machine learning models within the Compliance domain.
  • Develop and maintain GenAI applications and automation tools.
  • Perform statistical data analyses for monitoring, challenging and advising purposes.
  • Review and challenge data deliverables, including scripts, dashboards and analytical outcomes.
  • Advise colleagues on statistical data analysis methods and approaches.
  • Create, maintain and improve automation flows, processes and reporting dashboards.
  • Support the development of training materials and train colleagues on data-driven Compliance.
  • Collaborate with Compliance experts and data professionals across the Risk community.
  • Share best practices and lessons learned to continuously improve data-driven Compliance.

  • University degree or equivalent.
  • More than 3 years of experience performing statistical data analyses in a professional environment.
  • Experience working with SQL, Python and SAS to deliver analytical solutions and insights.
  • Knowledge of automation techniques and machine learning methodologies.
  • Ability to work with large and complex datasets while ensuring data quality and reliability.
  • Affinity with Risk Management or Compliance, preferably within banking or the financial sector, or a strong willingness to learn.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to explain analytical results to Compliance experts and senior management.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership and challenge existing ways of working.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to build sustainable relationships across local and global teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Dutch and English.
