DESCRIPTION: Guide cross-functional teams to deliver strategic R&D projects that advance Thermo Fisher Scientific's mission of enabling customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. Partner with stakeholders across R&D, Business Units, Operations, Marketing, and other functions to drive successful development and commercialization of innovative products and solutions. Provide strategic direction in planning, executing and monitoring complex projects while maintaining focus on timelines, budgets and quality. Address and mitigate risks, facilitate stakeholder alignment, and ensure effective communication at all levels. Support developing project managers and foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Advanced Degree plus 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's Degree plus 8 years of experience in technical project management, preferably in life sciences/analytical instruments industry
  • Preferred Fields of Study: Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Life Sciences or related
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent preferred
  • Demonstrated success leading complex, cross-functional product development projects through full lifecycle
  • Knowledge of project management methodologies, tools and best practices (Agile, Stage-Gate, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate alignment and influence within matrix organization
  • Technical knowledge to engage effectively with R&D teams and translate requirements
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with ability to engage at all levels
  • Experience with project management software (MS Project, Jira, etc.)
  • Financial and business understanding for budget management and business case development
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Strategic perspective combined with implementation capabilities
  • Demonstrated success in developing effective teams
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% as needed
  • Fluency in English required, additional languages beneficial
  • Experience with regulated industries (FDA, ISO) preferred
