About the role
Lead the research, design, implementation, and deployment of AI models, agentic solutions, and optimization algorithms for supply chain problems, including demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and replenishment. Partner with customers and internal teams to scale solutions, improve model performance, develop new AI/ML capabilities, and source and validate data assets.
What they look for
Requirements
Requires a master's or doctoral degree in a relevant technical or quantitative field, hands-on Python, MLOps, and supply chain modeling experience, and practical expertise across generative AI, agentic systems, machine learning, and classical statistical methods. Candidates should have strong mathematical foundations, experience deploying models at scale in distributed or cloud-native environments, and excellent communication skills; experience with relevant programming languages, LLM frameworks, vector databases, RAG, and supply chain planning systems is a plus.

About the role
SmartOSC helps enterprises turn their data into production-ready Data & AI solutions that
accelerate their digital transformation. As a member of the SmartOSC Data Science team, you will
work with some of the largest companies in the region to build the next generation of AI-
powered enterprise applications. You will work directly with data scientists, AI engineers, and
subject matter experts to design and deploy AI capabilities that give our customers the
information they need to make better decisions with a specific focus on solving supply chain
problems such as demand forecasting, inventory optimization, and replenishment.
You will identify the right AI approaches for each problem and implement them so they run
reliably at enterprise scale. Qualified candidates will have deep knowledge of modern AI and ML
techniques including large language models, agentic systems, and classical statistical
methods - along with a clear understanding of their limitations and how to adapt them to large-
scale production environments, and will bring real supply chain domain expertise to the table.
Responsibilities
● Lead the research, design, implementation, and deployment of AI models, agentic
solutions, and optimization algorithms for supply chain applications including demand
forecasting, inventory optimization, and replenishment models.
● Partner with SmartOSC customers to build and scale supply chain AI solutions in their
environments.
● Contribute to the design and implementation of new AI/ML capabilities within
SmartOSC's Data and AI solutions.
● Analyze model performance across deployments, diagnose issues such as forecast
bias, poor recall, or false positive rates, and recommend targeted improvements.
● Collaborate with data engineers and subject matter experts from SmartOSC and
customer teams to source, validate, and correctly leverage new data assets.
Requirements
Qualifications
● MS or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, Operations
Research, or a related field.
● Hands-on experience in data exploration, frameworks and MLOps using Python.
Supply chain domain experience is mandatory - hands-on modeling experience in
areas such as demand forecasting, inventory optimization, replenishment, and related
planning problems.
● Hands-on AI experience spanning generative AI, agentic systems, supervised and
unsupervised learning, and classical regression and classification.
● Strong mathematical foundation in linear algebra, calculus, probability, and statistics.
● Experience building and deploying models at scale in distributed or cloud-native
environments.
● Sharp, motivated, and focused on making a real impact.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
● Knowledge in JavaScript, Java, or Scala is a plus.
● Either Conceptual or working knowledge in LLM frameworks (e.g., LangChain,
LlamaIndex), vector databases, or RAG architectures.
● Experience with supply chain planning systems (Kinaxis, o9, Blue Yonder, SAP
APO/IBP) or time-series forecasting libraries.
● A portfolio of AI projects (GitHub, publications, or open-source contributions) is a plus.
Benefits
