The position and your daily adventures
This is a full-time position based in our Mexico City office with a hybrid model, therefore we are looking forward to seeing you in our office 2-3 times per week. As a Junior UI/UX Designer, you'll work as part of the Product Design team to help create simple, intuitive, and visually polished experiences for Klar customers. You'll collaborate closely with Product Designers, Product Managers, Engineers, and other teams to understand problems, explore solutions, and bring ideas to life. You'll have the opportunity to work across different areas of Klar's product while learning from more experienced designers and gradually taking ownership of smaller product problems and features.
What you can expect:
- Work with Product Designers and Product Managers to understand customer, business, and product problems.
- Explore and communicate design solutions through sketches, flows, mockups, and prototypes when needed.
- Design clear, intuitive, and visually polished experiences for Klar's digital products.
- Create high-fidelity UI designs and interactions in Figma.
- Use AI tools to explore ideas, accelerate parts of the design process, and improve your workflow.
- Contribute to the evolution and consistency of Klar's design system.
- Work closely with Engineers to help ensure designs are implemented as intended.
- Participate in design critiques and collaborate with other designers to improve your work.
- Use customer feedback, research, product data, and business context to inform design decisions.
- Iterate on designs based on feedback and learnings.
- Help document design decisions, patterns, and solutions.
- Contribute to maintaining a consistent and high-quality product experience.
What we are looking for:
Technical (hard skills)
- 1–2 years of experience in UI/UX, Product Design, Interaction Design, or a related field.
- A portfolio showing examples of digital product or UX/UI work.
- Good understanding of fundamental UX, UI, and interaction design principles.
- Proficiency in Figma.
- Strong visual design fundamentals, including layout, spacing, typography, hierarchy, and consistency.
- Ability to explain your design decisions and incorporate feedback.
- Curiosity and willingness to learn from other designers and cross-functional partners.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Product, Engineering, and other teams.
- Good communication skills and an organized approach to your work.
- Interest in understanding both customer needs and business goals.
- Advanced English level.
- Based in Mexico City and comfortable working under Klar's hybrid model.
- Experience designing fintech or financial products, mobile applications, or with design systems and reusable components is a plus.
- Familiarity with UX research, usability testing, basic accessibility principles, or Agile/product development methodologies is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS is a plus.
- Experience using AI tools as part of the design process is a plus.
