The Opportunity

As a Sales and Tender Manager supporting Hitachi Energy’s Grid Integration business, you will help grow sales and secure profitable contracts across power systems market segments. In this role, you will identify and qualify new business opportunities, manage the end-to-end tender process, develop proposal strategies, coordinate across legal, technical, finance, engineering, project management, and greenfield teams, and build client relationships that support successful project outcomes. Your work will help position Hitachi Energy solutions effectively for customers working across high and medium voltage power systems, related maintenance needs, and complex grid projects. You will also study market trends, customer needs, and the competitive landscape to inform sales strategies and support product development. This is an opportunity to apply your engineering, sales, and proposal experience in a role where commercial strategy, technical understanding, and customer partnership come together to support reliable, safe, and high-performing power infrastructure.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities aligned with strategic growth goals.
  • Manage the end-to-end tender process from RFP review through proposal submission.
  • Develop proposal strategies that support profitable contracts and customer outcomes.
  • Coordinate with legal, technical, finance, engineering, project management, and greenfield teams.
  • Build and maintain client relationships to understand needs and position solutions effectively.
  • Conduct market research and competitive study to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions with clients while following company policies.
  • Prepare and present sales forecasts, reports, and performance metrics to senior management.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your Background

  • Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field. An MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of demonstrated engineering, sales, and/or proposal experience as part of an engineering, project or service business.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sales and tendering function, complex tenders, sales targets, client relationships, and multiple priorities concurrently and successfully.
  • Experience with High and Medium Voltage Power Systems and related Maintenance procedures (Preferred)
  • Sound understanding of contract law, procurement processes, and negotiation techniques.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with comfort making presentations both internally and externally; ability to travel domestically and internationally as required; fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in other languages relevant to target markets is a plus.
