IT Solutions Engineer (Networking)

Home based (London) with daily travel to customer sites across London

£55,000 + Van + Overtime

(Internal job reference: Specialist / Team Leader)

Focus Group provides essential business technology to over 30,000 customers across the UK. We're looking for a London-based networking specialist to lead technical projects for our Operations team — someone who knows their way around VLANs, firewalls and SD-WAN (Software-Defined Wide Area Network), and enjoys being the person others turn to when things get complex.

The role

You'll design, deliver and support network and IT projects for customers across the London area — LAN/WAN (Local Area Network/Wide Area Network) refreshes, SD-WAN rollouts, firewall and wireless deployments — working across vendors like Meraki, Aruba, Cisco, SonicWall and Ubiquiti. You'll be the escalation point for tricky network issues, scope solutions on customer calls, and mentor other engineers along the way. You'll also get involved in the wider infrastructure picture: cloud migrations, server and virtualisation support, and security implementations.

What you'll bring

  • Proven experience in IT support, infrastructure or solutions delivery
  • CCNA certification
  • Genuine expertise in networking: VLANs, routing and switching, firewalls, WAN/SD-WAN and wireless design
  • Confidence with networking vendors such as Meraki, Aruba, Cisco, SonicWall or Ubiquiti
  • Strong troubleshooting instincts and clear communication with non-technical customers
  • A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to customer sites

What you'll get

£55,000 salary, plus van, plus overtime

A genuinely flexible home-based setup, and clear progression into Team Manager, Technical Consultant or Technical Pre-Sales Consultant roles.

If networking is your specialism and you want real variety and real ownership, we'd love to hear from you.

Let's connect. Let's grow.
