Sales Electrical Engineer
The Sales Electrical Engineer is responsible for the technical development and coordination of Electrical Balance of Plant projects during the sales and early project phases. The role focuses on analyzing customer requirements and technical specifications, and translating them into optimized plant concepts and solutions, primarily in the field of electrical power systems.
Acting as a central technical interface, the Engineer collaborates closely with customers, suppliers, and external engineering consultants,
and internal stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions are technically sound, competitive, and aligned with contractual requirements. The position plays a key role in preparing technical and commercial offers, supporting costing, negotiations, and ensuring that plant designs enable reliable, high-quality, and cost-effective system integration for projects such as STATCOMs, synchronous condensers, FACTS, MV/HV substations and Electrical Balance of Plant in general.
The workplace will be Schio (VI), Italy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Read and understand technical specifications
- Preparation technical and commercial offers and participation in contract negotiations (e.g. STATCOM, E-STATCOM, Synchronous Condenser Systems, other FACTS, MV/HV substations and Electrical Balance of Plant in general).
- Analysis of contractual requirements and development of technical concepts with a focus on electrical engineering
- Coordination with international sub-suppliers of electrical power plant equipment, including low-, medium-, and high-voltage systems
- Coordination of the technical offer
- Overall responsibility for schedule, quality, and costs within the sales phase (including site works).
- Ensuring the provision of a fully functional plant to the customer in accordance with the Technical Requirements
- Send technical inquiries to sub suppliers
- Fill in costing files
- Providing input for Installation Team/Layout/Transport
- Issue Design Templates based on the Standard Series Documentation: Document templates, Technical Description, Losses Calculation, Consumers List, Cables List, etc.
- Preparation of plant concept
- Organize and hold a technical plant kick-off meeting
- Management of plant design freeze documents
- Design coordination of overall plant layout with all system groups with respect to interfaces, Sales installation, Logistic department, and handling of equipment.
- Definition of project standards, such as auxiliary devices, etc., for all systems
- Issue of technical directives to comply with the plant concept
- Review of system-specific drawings to ensure plant harmonization (Main Single Line Diagram, AC/DC Single Line Diagrams, Consumer list, Overall Plant Performance,..)
TECHNICAL SKILLS (knowledge)
- Experience with electrical systems, from low-voltage to high-voltage technology; in particular in substations (> 100 kV)
- Professional experience in plant engineering and sales is an advantage
- Very good MS Office & Copilot skills; programming skills are desirable
- Fluent in English language skills; additional foreign languages are desirable (e.g. Spanish)

SCHOOL EDUCATION
Minimum
Completed technical education in electrical engineering or a similar field, such as a technical college, a university of applied sciences, a university, or an equivalent qualification
Desirable
Master’s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent

Experience
+5 years of experience in similar position
