Full description

RK&K, one of the nation's top consulting firms, is seeking a Facilities Project Manager for our Program and Construction Management division working on Facilities and Maintenance projects for MDOT SHA to assist with the development of facility projects, including project management and oversight of architectural, and engineering design activities for Fund 29 (vertical facility) projects. This position with primarily work out of Hanover Maryland.

 

Essential Function

  • Review, negotiate and approve project documents (e.g., schedules, submittals and change orders)
  • Coordination of all architectural and engineering design activities associated with the planning and development of facility projects including architectural design, space planning, related engineering design (civil, mechanical, structural, electrical, plumbing, fire protection), cost estimates, building codes, etc
  • Coordinate with various agencies (federal, state, and local)
  • Facilitate internal and client meetings, presentations and approval of plans
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of contractor means, methods, measurements and materials
  • Demonstrate thorough understanding of QA/QC development and execution process
  • Familiarity with interpreting contract specifications, standards, etc.

 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Four (4) years of experience in professional engineering / project management

 

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management
  • Passion for quality work and client service
  • Capital financial strategic planning experience
  • Provide oversight in the review of the Contractors submittals, schedules, change orders, etc. 
  • Capable of completing the work to meet budget and schedule requirements
  • RFI and Submittal processes experience
  • Experience with project meetings and regularly supporting clients
  • Experience using Procore or similar document management software 
  • Proficiency in MS Office software, P6 or other CPM scheduling software
