Steuben Foods is seeking a QA Production Holds Inspector to support our Quality Assurance team. This position is responsible for inspecting, sorting, and reviewing finished products placed on hold for quality evaluation, while ensuring food safety, product quality, and accurate documentation throughout the process.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining food safety and quality standards.
- Sort and inspect finished production lots that have been stored in the warehouse and placed on hold by Production or Quality Systems.
- Identify and report quality defects to the QS/PI/CI Supervisor, including:
- Leakers
- Bloaters
- Damaged packages
- Illegible codes
- Carton opening misalignment
- Ensure finished pallets are neatly stacked, re-glued, and securely shrink wrapped for shipment.
- Verify pallet identification and documentation are accurate and complete.
- Prioritize production holds as directed by the QS/PI/CI Supervisor to support timely customer order releases.
- Maintain QC hold product quarantine areas, including Class 1 holds.
- Assist with special projects, such as additional labeling of finished goods requested by Steuben Foods or customers.
- Assist with Repal inspections as workload permits.
- Assist production with palletizing as workload permits.
- Perform daily sanitation of the Repal and Production Holds work area.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to visually inspect and identify pack code time stamps for sorting and inspection purposes.
- Ability to accurately identify quality defects and maintain detailed records.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

- Pallet wrapper
- Glue guns
- Visual inspection of pack code time stamps
Schedule
- 1st Shift
- Variable days as needed for file release
Reporting Structure
- Reports directly to the Package Integrity/Continuous Improvement Supervisor or Lead.
- Reports indirectly to the Package Integrity/Continuous Improvement Manager.
