Description

Miller's environment is primarily homegrown and self taught. They are looking for someone with a strong background (5-7 years) with Power BI and DAX to come in and share their expertise and make an impact in the sales and finance teams. This person will work directly with the hiring manager, the sales analyst, and another Power BI Developer in a Community of Practice to build out dashboards and share best practices across the organization.

Utilize an Azure Data Lake with a sales semantic model, operations semantic model, and finance semantic model to pull data.

Do you enjoy building high-performing dashboards and data models that make complex business data clear and actionable? As a Business Intelligence Developer on the ITW Welding Business Intelligence & Analytics team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing dashboards and reporting solutions in Power BI. You will transform curated data from our Azure Data Lake into semantic models, measures, and visuals that drive decision-making across Sales, Finance, and Manufacturing. You will partner closely with finance, manufacturing, sales, and IT to ensure reliable, governed data pipelines. Your expertise in DAX, performance tuning, and user-friendly design will directly shape the effectiveness and adoption of BI tools across the organization.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related field.
• 3–7 years of experience in BI development, dashboard design, or reporting.
• Strong proficiency in Power BI, DAX, and data modeling.
• Solid SQL skills for querying and validating data.
• Experience with performance tuning and dashboard optimization.
• Strong problem-solving and attention to detail.
• Experience in manufacturing, distribution, or B2B environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards.
• Build and optimize DAX measures for performance and accuracy.
• Ensure dashboard scalability, usability, and alignment to business needs.
• Partner with Business Analysts to translate requirements into technical builds.
• Work with IT Data Team to integrate curated datasets from the Azure Data Lake.
• Support performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of BI tools.
• Stay current with Power BI best practices, features, and industry trends.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
