We’re looking for a hands-on, self-sufficient Python Engineer to join a long-term product collaboration with an established European investment company. The company has been successfully managing multi-billion euro assets for 30+ years and is now actively investing in AI-driven innovation.
You'll work closely with a highly professional internal team — analysts, portfolio managers, and risk experts — to bring modern, impactful solutions into their everyday operations. The engagement spans several parallel sub-projects, so you'll be able to switch context and contribute across different workstreams within the same collaboration.
What You’ll Be Working On:
- AI-powered internal platform already in production.
- Integration of LLM models for internal use.
- Decision-making automation workflows.
- Chat-based assistants for analysts and project managers.
- End-to-end ownership: from architectural design to production deployment.
You’ll be deeply involved in technical decision-making and have a direct impact on the business, with no intermediaries — close collaboration with the client team is part of your daily routine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement scalable backend APIs using Python and AWS Lambda.
- Develop and manage OpenAPI specifications for all serverless APIs.
- Build and maintain data models and schema migrations using PostgreSQL on AWS RDS.
- Set up and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform for AWS resources (e.g., ALB, RDS, Lambda, S3).
- Collaborate with DevOps to establish smooth CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD.
- Use Amazon S3 for storing and serving assets and data.
- Work with Amazon Bedrock to integrate generative AI services (e.g., document processing, summarization).
- Apply best practices in version control, testing, and security.
- Participate in code reviews, architectural planning, and agile team ceremonies.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Python 3.
- Experience building APIs using FastAPI or similar Python web frameworks.
- Experience in developing serverless applications using AWS Lambda.
- Familiarity with API Gateway and/or ALB for routing and service integration.
- Solid understanding of PostgreSQL, with experience deploying to AWS RDS.
- Knowledge of Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Familiarity with OpenAPI/Swagger for API contracts and documentation.
- Experience with GitLab and Git workflows for version control and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of S3 use cases in web applications.
- Comfortable working in agile environments and taking initiative to solve problems.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Amazon Bedrock or similar AI/ML platforms.
- Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools within AWS.
- Previous experience in the fintech or asset management domain.
- Awareness of security practices for serverless apps (IAM roles, API authorization, secret management).
Stages of Interview:
- Interview with a Recruiter (45 minutes).
- Internal technical interview (1,5 hour).
- Interview with the client (1 hour).
What we offer:
- Long team focus: we create an environment of transparent communication, and minimal bureaucracy, which leads to long-term relationships.
- Development of niche expertise: we are working in several niches, such as FinTech, healthcare, and logistics. Therefore, our employees can develop their own expertise in these domains.
